shutting down the internet would probably be the best thing for humanity. People would have to get to know their neighbors - differences and all and make peace with that - instead of isolating themselves in digital space with only people who think exactly like they do, which starts a spiral of intolerance.

The video game angle is absurd - normal sane people can separate virtual effects from reality.
I play extremely violent games, belong to multiple nerdy Discord servers, love gory movies… and the videos of Iryna and Charlie have had me physically sick and depressed for days. Because they were living human beings, not rendered 3D models or dummies built in effects departments.
