There is no "professional" hitter that could get away with this... without high level help

If this was just some deluded marksman, it shouldn’t take longer than 48 hours to find him. If it was a professional hitman, a week or two max. Anything longer and serious questions need to be asked.
The tech we have today makes it basically impossible to disappear — every smartphone since 2010 is a tracker, every vehicle is logged, cameras and license plate readers are everywhere, financial trails are instant, and even crossing state lines leaves data footprints. Add in scoping the site, dumping the weapon, avoiding OnStar/GPS, multiple burner phones… it’s not something you just improvise.
So unless this person was a complete ghost — totally off the grid and protected — there’s no way he avoids detection. Which leaves only two possibilities: either they catch him quickly, or we already have our answer.

How long did it take to find the United Healthcare killer.
Happened in a city with cameras every 10 feet…

This is turning out to be some Day Of the Jackal shite.

I'm sure your experience with professional assassinations is extensive.

Different situation. Not all assets were utilized. A CEO and a political figure of Kirks stature are two different animals.

Its a message board. With that said, you never know who you could be chatting with.

Wouldn't a "professional" already thought about all this and taken appropriate countermeasures? If this was some loser arse ANTIFA **** then they/them would have been caught by now.

Fair enough. It’s going to take time. The 3 local barney fifes on campus weren’t going to track the shooter down before they got off campus.

Meh
Surveil campus for cameras never bringing your phone. Enter and exit where none can see you. Park in high traffic area and take a bike or scooter. Carry small bag with change of clothes and hit the highway right afterwards.
Do that and don’t tell a soul. It’s gonna cause law enforcement problems.

What I’ve been thinking about is they waited to do this at some podunk school and not a major university. He was just at USC and perfectly safe. But he goes to some tiny little shithole school and gets assassinated.

I laughed because you paraphrased my thoughts.
We might be in for a lot of expert commentary for a while.

I think the US murder clearance rate is around 60%. Most of those are probably dumbasses who acted impulsively and we still don’t catch them.

Police solve most crimes from targeting potential suspects with prior criminal records. Most criminals are repeat offenders.

Isn’t it weird that throughout our history when things like this happen the conspiracy theory or the professional has always been relegated to the fantasy of loons and cooks. Somehow with this incident it’s the complete opposite. They keep coming on tv talking about this was a professional hit. It’s almost like they don’t want you to look at the lunatics on the left but rather send you down a rabbit hole chasing a professional hit man with chatters of foreign intelligence.. what about Charlie Kirk whether you love him or hate him would appeal to a foreign entity wanting him killed? Do we honestly think hamas or Putin would sign off on assassinating a close friend of Trump and risk his retaliation? There’s nothing gained

Congratulations on resigning from the Lone Gunman Theory

Apples and oranges compared to a major political figure giving a big speech and 2025 in front of a big crowd.

It was either,
A. RIP came down from Montana, was going to use a rattlesnake in an igloo cooler, but couldn't get close enough so he had to use his trusty lever-action
B. Tommy Norris hired one of those oilfield assassins Chevron uses to fight the cartels
C. The government was like, "Charlie Kirk is too effective. We need to get a Lioness on the ground!"
D. Taylor Sheridan did it himself, using the skills and experience he's gained from writing those shows
