At what age did you or your relatives realize you should not be turning on that table saw in your shop any longer....feel like it's about to happen for me.

No, but now I can see how I could. I've seen older people (patients, pharmacy) where it did happen.

The TS isn't the big issue because SawStop exists but there are a lot of other tools/machines that can be deadly.

I got too good of a deal on a Powermatic PM2000BT with Armor Glide, I had to pass up the SawStop ICS.

Anyway, my dad is 82 and uses his Dewalt contractor saw often. I wouldn't tell him to stop unless his vision or motor skills got really bad.

I use Micro Jig GRippers when necessary and I always use a living knife when not using a crosscut sled

Just get a Powerstop and the table saw will cut off when the hot dog falls out of your mouth.

Pay attention to how tired you are. As long as your eyes are okay and your motor skills aren't diminishing, being tired will get you quicker than anything.

My dad has a friend that has a sawmill... he has two fingers (index and thumb) on one hand and is missing his pinky and half his ring finger on the other hand.

One of my good friends father in law is into woodworking.... he is missing several fingers.

Yet they both continue to do their thing. I do believe I'd have given up that particular hobby (or be forced to by my wife).

I used to have a bad feeling when I would sell a radial arm saw to someone that I knew didn’t have the experience to handle that piece of equipment. I would advise them to get someone with woodworking experience to help them to learn its features and know its dangers, all along knowing they weren’t listening to a thing I was telling them.
