Do any of you have a suggestion for golf lessons for a teen boy? He's just getting interested in golf and I am not a player. Any good local places or people who give lessons?
TIA

ETA: it's the baton rouge area. and had no idea there is a golf board. Admins please move if you want.

It would help to know where "local" is.

Also, golf board.

He's 15. he's interested but not infatuated with it. I don't think he will be making his high school team. I don't want to spend a fortune.

Just someone to teach him the basics of swinging. How to hit the ball and it goes where he is aiming.

Download the Skillest app. Film his swing from face on and down the line. Submit it to a coach on the app. I recommend Dan Carraher.

Dan is a world class instructor and the cost is reasonable. He’ll get him started in the right direction.

$75

You know that place is expensive as frick when they want you to come in and take an hour long tour of the facility before telling you pricing

I can reccomend all of these guys for beginners and further.

Drew Nelson find him on instagram,
Chris Burkstaller at the island
Dustin Diez at pelican.
Jacob Alford at golftec.

FWIW I've heard and it may not be true but MBS makes you sign a contract. Something to keep in mind if he's not fully committed.

On the range at my home course Sunday and a 12 or 13 year old had a trackman out and was on the phone with his coach the entire time telling the numbers on every ball he hit. He was there before me and I hit for at least 30 minutes. When the kid was leaving he asked his coach to follow him for 18.

I was like wtf does this kid have a full time coach that is just willing to coach this kid over the phone for 5 hours.

and this wasn't some kid that was just striping them the whole time where he was needing data after every shot. 13 year old Iwy would have loved to have whipped his arse with cheap clubs and no lessons. Kids doing all this to be the third best golfer on his junior high team.

My son is in program at MBS. He loves it. For beginner program, only monthly commitment. Weekly classes. Commitment comes as kid gets better & more serious . Hope this helps
