Here’s a few questions from tonight’s 5th grade public school homework:

1. Explain the changes after Muhammad’s death.

2. What was Muhammad’s occupation before he sought spiritual understanding?

3. How did the Islamic empire influence art and architecture?

Can we also commemorate 9/11 by deporting Bush, Cheney and all the neocons?

Acadia Parish. I would assume this is curriculum across the state for public school.

You should answer the questions by drawing pictures of Muhammad

Like I’ve said.. Holocaust was done on the wrong people. Muslims should have been the ones.

I learned about Islam in school and I’m 42 years old.

If you consider Muslims your enemy I’d think you’d actually want to learn as much about them as possible?

We didn't, other than it existed as a religion. I'm 56.

This isn't being taught as a critical analysis of Islam to 11th or 12th graders. It's being taught through a lens of benignity to 5th graders.

They aren't getting questions about Muhammed's 6yr old bride or the marriage's consummation once she hit 9. They aren't talking about how they will stone young girls for attending a boy's birthday party. They aren't discussing how women aren't allowed to go out in public without covering at least their hair or they risk being beaten. They aren't discussing how Muslims will kill people for being gay.

Instead, they're discussing Islam's contributions to art and architecture and Muhammed's seeking of spiritual understanding. If it's followed up in later grades with the despotic method it's practiced once enough Muslims get into positions of power to influence laws, then okay. But I don't think that's what's happening.

The OP kinda reeks of something pulled off social media. Where is the link?
I really doubt that this is being taught in a public school in Acadiana Parish to 5th graders.
There is an Islamic school in Acadiana Parish, so maybe this info is from that school?

I did a paper on this in college. Islamic art is crap. It's just mosaics and geometric patterns. There is no creativity or individuality. Islam determines what kind of art is acceptable, and it's all bland and uninspiring. The dullness and uniformity of Islamic art is the perfect representation of a people not allowed to think for themselves. Their entire lives are lived within the "submission to allah" shite religion, and it is evident by their lack of artistic expression.

Islamic art is garbage compared to Christian art, and it's easy to see why. It's meant to create good little muslim drones. The lack of freedom and expression also lead to a lack of progress in their societies. It stifled creativity which is evident in the lack of advancement in their societies. They still mostly live like third worlders and offer no contribution to the advancement of civilization to this day.
