Thinking about putting a water well on my property due to the large amount of water we use to irrigate the lawn and landscape. Anybody have recommendations? Approximate cost?

Water table in LA is much higher than it is here TN and north MS.
Here you have to go 200ft. I think it's around $50 per foot.

Last quote I got to drill and case a 4" well was $7,500 for the first 100', then $20/ft for each additional in 2023. This does not include pump and drop pipe.
200 ft well = 7500 + 2000 = 9500
300 ft well = 7500 + 4000 = 11500
Depends where the aquifer is. Also will need to figure in mileage for the rig and trucks @ ~$4/mi.
200 ft well = 7500 + 2000 = 9500
300 ft well = 7500 + 4000 = 11500

$2000-3000 would be doable. This is out of my price range.

look on youtube some of people drill their own well for this type of thing but I am sure is very dependent on your soil and where you live.

How much is your water bill?
My sprinkler system runs 3 times a week from July-Sept & the water sewer bill is about $45 a month those each of those 3 months.

I wish. I'm in N.O. and my Sewerage & Water Board bill averages between $130-140 a month.
This is how my last water bill broke down:
Ready to Serve water for 5/8in Meter $8.69
Water Usage $41.09
Safe Drinking Water Fee $1.00
Ready to serve--Sewer $24.87
Sewer Volume Charge $39.75
Residential Sanitation Charge (Garbage) $24.00
City Sales Tax $1.24
Total Charges $140.64
I do not water my lawn EVER but do water about 50 potted plants almost daily and my 1000 sq. ft. vegetable garden 2-3 times a week depending on rainfall.
Three adults in the house, so showers, several loads of clothes a week, cooking etc.

You could get another water meter specifically for your irrigation system and sewage wouldn't be included. That would be much cheaper than a water well but may take years for it to pay for itself.

Granted this was for a 4" well, I think most home supply wells are 2".
I would recommend calling around to quote. If in Louisiana, the LADNR has a list of approved water well drillers.
