The gameplan was vanilla on purpose, which is totally fine

That doesn’t make up for the low effort, low energy, and lack of focus performance (on offense) but the gameplan was fine given the opponent and the fact that its week 2. It’s a long season and there’s a lot to be said for not showing much.
Here’s a reminder of what an elite offensive gameplan looks like, which we executed 8 days ago. This offensive staff has it and we’ll see a lot more next week.
We got the win, no need to overreact.

While true, it was (or at least should have been) expected. That's why 90% of the money bet on the game was on Tech.

I think losing Moore was a huge issue and our team looked unmotivated.
We spent the entire offseason focusing on Clemson and got that win and had trouble bouncing back. It’s why Saban talks process and not opponents. Causes inconsistency.

Ah yes, the secret playbook theory.
Do we also have a binder that we’re using again?

It’s simply the nature of the beast. Not ideal, would love a 55-0 rout but it’s fine.
The only thing about yesterday I really care about is the injuries to Moore and Green. Everything else is a footnote in a low profile week 2 matchup that nobody will care about once conference play starts.

AGREED. I was painfully obvious and was painful to watch.
The worst part is the injuries.

Did you not watch the Clemson game? You should consider watching it.

BK preaches the same thing...it didn't take

Im glad to see the vanilla offense cause injuries while you play a mind game with other teams. GTFO

Moore was hurt on the first play.
Not putting stuff on film in no way is a “mind game”
Woeful woeful takes.

We had one game with a decent run play calling. Quite a few misdirection plays and more running outside the tackles. Then we went right back to our last 4 years of running calls. I will never understand trying to line up and impose our will by running it up the middle again and again. If it worked even a bit then fine. But we get our shite pushed in constantly and continue to back up and do it again.
Should we be able to bully LAT's DL? Yes, but once you see we can't block, you need to make adjustments.

The O-line was pushed around. Zero run production. Nuss looked terrible.

It's not the play designs that are the issue. Except for last year when the offense was still designed around a mobile QB.
It's the play calling and relying on low percentage success plays for the offense to click.

Was the game result really ever in question? Do we really need to adjust if the risk of losing is virtually zero? Again, Nuss not looking great, OL sloppy, that’s execution problems, not gameplan. Not excusable and have to be fixed but not reason for alarm IMO.
If you see the same garbage vs UF or Ole Miss im with you. But im just not going to get that worked up about what I don’t believe to be really indicative of larger issues.
We won. 2-0. Now im just hoping/praying for good news re: Moore & Green.

That doesn’t excuse the awful o line play
Explain that
Vanilla play calling is one thing and in and of itself isn’t a problem in a game like this.
But the dog shite execution is

We agree. I thought I said as much in the OP.

The Nuss interception was no vanilla play but alas it was underthrown to the wr

Elite play design that got 53 more yards of offense against Clemson than Troy did.

Ah yes, the college football transitive property.
Because that argument never fails.
