Do you just pile it up by the street and they come scoop it up?
Cut a large section of old sod out and failed to consider what I would do with it. FML

I don’t know unless it’s a special pick up. We got notice in our neighborhood a few months back that they will only pick up garbage in the can. So if you have boxes or a bag next to it you’re SOL.

If you’re in St Tammany, I’m assuming your trash company is coastal environmental services. They do green waste pickup twice per month. Big truck with a crane arm on it. They pick up all kinds of yard debris. I’ve put all sorts of stuff out there and they always pick it up. You can call them too and they will put your address on their route the next time they send the green waste truck out.

Pile it up, upside down. It will rot into compost, and it really doesn't take that long. That is what I did with mine.

I've heard this... just pile it and cover it with a tarp?

Make sure you call first and confirm a bulk pickup. They wouldn't even take a bunch of bamboo I had cut down because it was sticking out of my trash can. I called and they told me I'd have to take it out and pile it for a bulk day.

Your waste company doesn't have the truck with the arm that picks up the can? If so just load it the can. The arm will dump it in the truck. Driver never gets out. I cut back tree branches and vines in the back yard. Filled the can full three different days.Gone.

Put it in your green can, not the blue or brown one
