There’s never been a more Christian president than Trump. He puts God above all else.

Jesus alone paid the price of our sin-debt against God, and we receive forgiveness when we trust in Jesus alone by faith. If we try to add anything to our salvation, we say what Jesus did wasn’t enough, and we do not have the gospel.

So he doesn’t understand the doctrine. Doesn’t take away from his kindness towards Christians

Trump doesnt seem to be Christian but God does appear to be using him for sure

While all of that may be true, minus the faith in God=Christianity, why is the Department of State talking about religion? If Biden shouldn't do it, neither should Trump.

Romans 10:9
that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
You cannot make biblical judgments without basing them on what the Bible actually says

Sola fide is unbiblical unless you cherry-pick a handful of passages. Half of Jesus’ parables and practically the entire sermon on the mount among most of the New Testament actually refute sola fide.
These Protestant “ackchyally” Karens are so tedious.
The OP’s point is well taken, even though everyone knows Trump is not a great personal example of a good Christian.

How is it possible to read the Bible and not see that God uses non-believers for the advancement of His kingdom all the time?

If you believe your works contribute to your salvation, you are not “Christian”, except possibly in name only.
Every religion in the world says that you go to Heaven (or its equivalent) due to doing more good works than bad. Christianity is the only religion that teaches that we go to Heaven based on the works of someone else, the God-man, Jesus Christ.

Before Trump Republican candidates had to pass a purity test by evangelical voters before they could be nominated. MAGA brought in a bigger tent that no longer required republicans to be scrutinized the same as years past. Trump is an unapologetic adulterer, casino owner and has stated in interviews that he doesn’t need forgiveness from God.
He was able to tap into a new generation that simply isn’t as religious as past generations

It doesn’t strike me as very Christian to distort what a man says in an attempt to paint him in a bad light on his attempted path to Salvation. But you do you, I guess.

Did I say anywhere that the death and resurrection of Jesus did not save us from sin?
It’s Faith AND Actions (works).

Jesus was asked 3 times in the gospels what someone had to do to inherit eternal life. (Matthew 19, Luke 10, Luke 18). Jesus gave the same answer all 3 times. Do you remember what his answer was?

quote:What am I distorting? Jesus told Christians that we can judge a tree by its fruit. Trump only shows “fruit” of being an unrepentant unbeliever. He cusses like a sailor, blasphemes God’s name, doesn’t go to church regularly, has said publicly that he doesn’t need forgiveness for anything, and that he hopes his good works will get him into Heaven. Nothing about the man indicates that he is a Christian, but rather someone who believes in the existence of a God, like Jews, Mormons, Muslims, and Deists.

Christians have a duty to condemn sin and to repent, themselves. It brings reproach on Christ if we don’t. How many times have you seen a professing Christian get caught in a serious sin (child abuse, adultery, murder, etc.) and hear someone accuse Christians of being hypocrites and two-faced, leading to condemnation of the faith?
That’s why it is important to me to not remain silent when someone says Trump is the most Christian President we have ever had.

And no, our works do not contribute to salvation. They are a necessary evidence of our salvation.

“Cusses like a sailor”. lol
Buddy you don’t even know what a sin is because you make up your own theology.
