I have a Triton 240lts I am thinking about selling to upgrade. Its got a verado 250 on it from the same year with about 900 hours. Its always been stored inside and is in pretty good shape for its age. I am trying to get an idea of what its worth, considering the market has shifted back towards a buyer’s market.

It’s absolutely a buyers market for used boats right now. New ones are still sky high.

To the op. What kind of electronics and accessories? Is everything original as far wiring and console?

Maybe around 40k. It will be higher if it’s has been professionally rewired or with new hardware, and electronics. If it’s mostly originally stock then I’ll stick with the 40 ish range.

I put new simrad mfd’s in a couple of years ago. Both are 9” display. Also has a newer minn kota trolling motor. All of the pumps and lights are new but the main wiring itself is original. I installed a new jack plate a couple years back as well.

Start at $50 and work down, that’s a great riding boat.

Motor at 17 years and 900 hours is pretty much worthless. You may not be able to get spare parts. A replacement will run 25000.

Trailer depending on axles, springs, tires could be worth 2000

Boat at 17 years probably needs complete electrical overhaul, check for soft spots in fibre glass deck and bottom, Gps age, gas tank material of construction, use of wood in boat construction etc. Based on info available rig might be worth 17000

I am in quite a few owners forums on FB. Saw a 2009 24 ft Shearwater that was completely overhauled professionally, rewired, new fuel tank, almost new 250 zuke. Guy had all the documents and photos to show the work. Had it listed at 45k. Beautiful boat better than new. That thing sat for months. I couldn’t believe no one scooped it up immediately.

Good luck op, it’s worth what someone is willing to pay. It only takes the one person that wants it. Those Tritons are known for their ride. I recommend joining a triton bay boat owners group and you will get a better feel there for the value.

None of this is reliable info.

I’d start at $43K. Probably be ready to make a deal at $38K. Market is tough on used boats right now.

I was thinking $35-37k, just wanted other opinions. I know of a very similar boat that sold for $39k last winter with an etec on the back.

Wouldn't that mean it's a seller's market for used?

useful link,,,,,,noticed that none of the ads showed what year motors were built. Discounting there prices 25%, could lead to an offer through the dealership

Look I am no economist or sales expert I just know what I am seeing post the ridiculousness that we saw during the covid years. I see lots of boats sitting on the used market that were selling before. Of course there are exceptions if it’s a highly sought after make/model.

Do this OP. Here's what I would do:

1.) join owners group on Facebook
2.) look at what others sold for
3.) List on the FB group for a good price, as in if you were thinking $35-37k and FB proves that list it for $36k.
4.) if you don't get good bites quickly with 7-10 days. De list and post it on Facebook marketplace lower

IMO the key is selling it for a fair price listed quickly. Rarely are you going to have something overpriced then sell in 60-90 days for more than just an originally listed fair price. There's nothing worse than dealing with tire kickers for 60-90 days
