Bringing a group of high school seniors to the game this weekend

I'm a La Tech guy but I got put in charge of bringing this group to the game this weekend. What all should be plan on seeing around campus? I think of couple of them are for sure going to LSU, a few more considering. We should be getting there around lunchtime unless we make a plan for something before that.
I got a parking pass near the clock tower. Can I come and go from that spot during the day? Anywhere to get out of the heat during the afternoon?
I was told we should walk over to the Chimes to eat.
Any tips? TIA

Go see Mike the Tiger for sure.

Once you park there I would not move. There are tailgates around that area and the fraternities will have their Uhauls out too.
The chimes is super easy walk from there as is Mike. We park there a few times a year.

Seeing the team walk down the hill is a must.

When I was in high school I would get drunk by the plane so maybe that is the move.

Definitely just park and walk. Plenty of tailgate spots to visit. If you need to get out of the heat, you can go to the bookstore right across the street from the union.

Don't go to a restaurant for foodstuffs. Just wear your Bulldog gear to the tailgates and you should get plenty.

Anywhere to get out of the heat during the afternoon?
quote:You're gonna get the obvious answers like the team/band going down the hill and Mike's habitat, but to me it's cool to just walk around campus and take in the tailgating atmosphere for the first time, especially in the last few hours before kickoff. In fact, with that group I'd wager if you went up to any tailgate playing beer pong and said "we've got some future LSU students who wanna learn beer pong" they'll gladly have y'all join.
What all should be plan on seeing around campus?

Any tips? TIA

If we were in high school at the same time you've probably seen me passed out.

If you have time kill and don't mind walking, take stroll over to Alex Box Stadium and checkout the National Championship Plaza and take a pic with the Skip statue, etc.

Mike the Tiger. Then walk through campus to Chimes to see the tailgates. Then walk back to the PMAC for the AC

Is this open to the public?

No tip, but high schoolers? I'll just wish you good luck.

The PMAC will be open if you want to cool off and watch some of the early games inside.

I'd see if any of your La Tech crew is going down to grab some food, but most people will be very nice about grabbing a bite to eat. It just depends on how many people, and don't eat alllllll their food.

Make sure you're near the stadium in time to see the band march down victory hill! I get goosebumps just writing about it.

Free seating in the Maravich Center is available starting five (5) hours prior to kickoff of LSU Football home games. Restrooms are available and college football games will be shown on the main video boards above the court. The Golden Band from Tigerland will perform in the Maravich Center approximately two (2) hours prior to kickoff. The arena will be cleared one (1) hour prior to kickoff.

Don’t waste time with chimes
You’ll never get in with that many People
It’ll be hot so folks will be parked inside there all day

quote:Chimes is also kind of underwhelming for an 18 year old who presumably won't be drinking beer. I'd recommend parking at the tower, walking through campus, down the hill, see Mike's habitat and pass the stadium, and go across the street for Torchy's
