they struck FEAR into clemson.

I havent seen a defense that intimated opposing teams like this since maybe 2019, more realistically 2011.

Ive rewatched the highlights and now full game, it was clear that Cade Klubnik looked like a deer in the headlights from start to finish.

The combo of Perk and Weeks is fantastic. Cade couldn't keep his eyes off of #7.
Cooley and Haulcy were flying around the field. Head hunting.
Gooden #88 and Payton #6 Pyburn #44 - they weren't just controlling the LOS - they were interruping the backfield and looking for the Kill shot.

This was the best performance from our defense since I can remember but damn, they were striking FEAR into Clemson.

We've been missing this.....

He will. But not in the playoffs.

The defense WAS FLYING AROUND.

I think it came to a point of holy shite, when is this going to end - these guys aren't slowing down.

2011 will always be the standard in my mind. I remember seeing the Florida game that year and thinking damn...it really doesn't matter what WE do on offense. Just have to score a few TDs bc NOBODY is running up any kind of score on this D.

The D got better as the game went on.

No slowing down.

Im pumped to know we get SE, UF at home - gives plenty time for defense to roll momentum and offense to get comfortable with starting 11 & roations

2003 & 2011 for me for sure. That 2003 defense was just as special. Not as fast as the 2011 defense but maybe more suffocating.

People forget our defenses were still nasty in years between 2011-2019.

2016 was pretty scary with Jamal, Tre White and donte Jackson, Arden Key, Duke Riley, beckwith and young Devin white who was making plays as a true freshman.

But definitely agree we haven’t seen a defense of this caliber since 2019 or before.

definitely on the last play...he took off running to his right way sooner than he needed to...

I was impressed with the depth.

What separates the good teams from the great teams in the ability to roll in fresh bodies throughout the game without significant drop off.

LSU was able to do that, and it showed

We've definitely beaten this dead horse. Time to move on and Focus on 2-0!

My favorite part was that like 25 guys played and there wasn’t much drop off at any point

I feel like the 2016 defense is one of the great LSU defenses nobody ever talks about. Wasn’t that the year they absolutely shut Lamar Jackson down in the bowl game? I guess maybe because LSU didn’t end up playing for a title or big time BCS type bowl to end the season like the other great defenses did like 03, 06, 07(not a great defense but really good most games), and ‘11 is why the 2016 D gets forgotten.
