I have changed my mind on Les

Put him in the HOF
Regardless of the vacated wins at LSU, it’s his 3-18 record at KU that was keeping him below the .600 win % threshold & now that’s been lowered to .595% for Mike Leach.
I haven’t seen any public information about his health, but I’m not so sure there isn’t something going on with him based on recent photos. He (71) seems to be aging a lot quicker than other guys older than him (Pete Carroll, Belichick, & Saban are all still pretty active at 73). I don’t mean to speculate, but if he is dealing with something like Alzheimer’s or similar - it’s possible that began affecting him in his 60s. He was 62 when he got fired at LSU & coached at KU till he was 67.
At the top of his game, he was great for college football & kept LSU in the conversation every year. Outside of 2019, it feels like we are finally getting back to the level of consistency that Les had us at pre-2014.

I truly believe if he changed with the times on offense he would still be here

you're biased if you think Les was any better than Jumbo Fisher

Jimbo should be in the HOF too. Not very many “eligible” National Championship winning coaches get left out
Also 145 wins > 128 wins
Also 145 wins > 128 wins

Les was Miles ahead of Jimbo—pardon the pun.

No one gives a shite about your shitty opinions.

Les Miles looks incredible compared to Deboer as far as following up Nick Saban goes. Not an easy job to follow up as we can see now.

Sometimes I miss his Power I formation when we struggle on 3rd and 1. Then I remember Lee, Jefferson, Harris, Jennings, and Etling struggling to complete a pass for more than 4 yards. No desire to go back to those dark days.

Les deserves better than he gets from LSU fans, but the game started to pass him by after 2012.
He was never going to adjust to the offensive explosion that was overtaking CFB.

I hope they bring him back in 2027 for 20 year celebration of 07 championship.

You could say the same thing about Charley Mac. He knew his defense but had no imagination on offense.
Ditto with JimMora who was too stubborn to replace Carl Smith with a top notch OC.
Miles and Mora were both hard headed and stubborn. Mac just refused to change with the times.

Strongly disagree!! Miles doesn’t belong in the HOF.

We probably cut bait with him about three years too late. He did some shitty things to the whole athletic program during that period.

Not stubborn ... STUPID!
He was in over his head and incapable of making decisions regarding changing things up.
Amazing talent and descent assistant coaches got him a lot of wins.
It drives me nuts that people want to say he was stubborn.

One of the most colorful characters in SEC coaching. Spurrier, Les, The Pirate, Lane, Coach O.
