I currently use red label Seagar or Berkeley Vanish just cause my local Academy has it. What do yall use and like?

I use Seagar for leaders when fishing braid but it's just what I picked up, I couldn't tell you if it's better or worse than anything else.
I'm not convinced they're needed but it gives me a good break point if nothing else.

Have used a lot of different ones. Spro was 2nd best. Best for money spent IMO is Seaguar InvizX. Casts really well and seems a little softer/more flexible than others. Plus, the odds that you would get a “bad batch” are almost nonexistent with Seaguar.

I've tried most brands and only use P-Line now. 15 and 17#.

Tried P-Line a long time ago before i knew much about fishing line or tuning a reel and I didn’t have a great experience. Based on all these comments i may have to try it again because there are def some things about fluoro that i dislike. I mean, when you backlash with it, it aint no joke. Can trash your whole spool or at least will create a bunch of weak kinks.
Which exact P-Line do you use?

Fuk that shite I’ve tried them all. Poor cast ability and knot strength. I’m back to Big Gsme in 12 and 15. No way in missing out strikes because of it.

Why are you casting Fluoro? Seems like a complete waste of money IMO.
I use the cheapest I can find. Don't see the point in wasting it on Fluoro, more bass have been caught on straight mono than anything else ever.
Now a fluoro leader sure, but its just for the ability to refract and not be anti abrasive when it comes to bass so again I don't see why you are breaking it off? The cheapest available is good for me.

You make some good points. Mono is more abrasion resistant, more user friendly, more reliable, and way cheaper than fluoro.
I use fluoro mainly because it has 4 advantages I like:
-Its smaller diameter allows me to bomb casts
-It sinks, meaning i can get crankbaits & jerkbaits deeper
-It has less stretch, which allows me better hookups and more landed fish with almost all lures
-Its more sensitive and you can feel what your bait is doing a lot better
There is no doubt though that fluoro can be a real PITA at times, namely when tuning a reel or windy days.

Please let me help you: use the San Diego Jam knot. This knot is nothing short of a miracle. Its not very difficult and there is no better knot. Works with all types of line. I have never had one fail. You will thank me later

Diana J-braid.
Berkeley X9
Suffix 832
Powerpole sucks.

832 is pretty legit, holds up well for a braid. Their 13 carrier braid is supposed to be even better. And yes…Powerpro does suck

Ultimate Fluorocarbon. Halo also but Academy always has the Ultimate.

My fishing buddy just told me about this knot this past weekend. I’ll be checking out some YouTube videos on how to tie it.

I almost quit fluorocarbon and braid altogether before I learned the San Diego Jam. I’m telling you, your knot failures will be a thing of the past. I’m being honest when i say i’ve never broken it off at the knot.
