they are great for the low cost and easy installation. Most attic doors don't seal worth a shite.

Yes, also if you happen to have cleco for your power company they will come out and do an “energy assesment” which includes installing an attic door, replacing lights to LED, and installing new door stripping. All for free

Good short article on the importance of insulating the attic stairs from a quantitative perspective. Heat transfer through non-insulated attic stairs is much greater than most realize. FWIW, the author was raised in south Louisiana and has a Ph.D. In physics.

nope. I had an energy guy tell me to caulk it. not just staple it so no air gets around it. I can tell a difference. was slightly too big for my opening, but I just tucked the extra on the backside

It has a zipper around the top...it's easy.

It works.

The door tent works fine and I seal the attic access door from the outside with 2"-wide white vinyl tape that peels off easily without removing any paint.

Do attic tents potentially cut down on dust as well?

Super cheap on Amazon and installs in minutes with a stapler. Definitely can feel the difference in hallway under the stairs in my house.

Nothing stops the dust in the house…that would be the best invention in the world
