Enjoy your retirement and family time coach. You made College Gameday a must see event. Your mascot selection through the years has been fun to watch. May God bless you and your family, and extend your years a little while longer. Thanks for all the memories.

Herbstreit is honestly the face of Gameday. Corso prob next, then Fowler. Howard 4th. Herbsteit is 56. If he goes until 86, that'll be 2055. It will be nuts in 2055 to see Herbstreit make his final appearance. Corso became big when he was already aged. It'll be even harder to see Herbstreit, Fowler, and Desmond Howard leave sometime in the late 2050s I bet. That's a very long time from now though, and TD being an older site will be his age then too. I'll still probably be working unforunately.

Life is not linear bro. There is little chance that Herbstreet, Desmond Howard, and Fowler are all doing this together 10 years from now much less all of them into their 80s

He was out on his feet last 3 years. It was a good run for Lee.

“Made”???

Seems more like something someone who wants to go out with the people would do.

I’m kind of at a loss for words. It feels very odd knowing we’re not going to have him on Saturdays anymore.

Pat Macafee is a cheap, cheesy Temu substitute for Corso.

Headgear should retire with Corso. Sacrilege for anyone else to do it.

First of all the is no way to replace Lee Corso. You can't replace legends. Someone will try, but he was the OG and what 3 generations of college football fans woke up to on Saturday mornings. I loved when he picked up Mike's head and put it on. It gave me pride as a 1980's kid that LSU fans didn't always get. He will be missed.

As for Pat Macafee ... Not so fast my friend. Pat is growing on me. He's funny and very generous. But what goes unnoticed is how smart he is. Tell me another show on basic cable that runs 55 mins with no commercials?? He does it two hours in a row. Plus got ESPN to agree to every cuss word but one being allowed. And sometimes that one goes unbeeped. He is a master negotiator. Pat is no Coach Corso, but he's no idiot either.

I know he has slipped and sometimes has been difficult to watch but I have never wanted this day to come.
