New Orleans as a civic institution sucks arse. It’s hopeless. But the good is the BEST.

I know New Orleans gets shite on here a lot. For good reason. But living here these past few years for school has led me to conclude that this city has something great under the surface you don’t get anywhere else. Go walk around uptown, go to some random bar, see a parade night. Walk out the Dome with a crowd after a (rare) Saints win.

Man, I’m not sure I’ll after school because of the political, and criminal BS. But I know I won’t find the peaks I’ve had these few years anywhere else. Especially not back in Alabama as much as I love my home state.

The fricking potential man. Squandered like the rest of beautiful Louisiana.

New Orleans sucks. It needs to be completely re-made, and democrat politicians should have nothing to do with it or else we will get the same result.

Yes, some bible thumping baptist Republicans running things will surly have it remain a lively tourist attraction

The older I get, the more I enjoy daytime in New Orleans. After 9PM, I don't want to be anywhere near the Quarter.

It's a great city with rich history and identity, radically different than any other major city in the US or even the rest of the world.

It's also a place where you may be stabbed, shot, run over, robbed, or suffer any number of calamities due to the fact the city is run by the abysmally uneducated and ignorant. Many of the cars in town are uninsured, probably not registered. It smells like sewage, piss and vomit virtually all of the time. And it's trending downward, losing more productive residents and gaining more deadbeats every year.

But hey.. take the good with the bad.
