LSU had no knowledge of the Haulcey news prior to Wednesday

FACTS

1. Haulcey gets in fight, gets ejected

2. It is determined to be an unsportsmanlike conduct ejection, not a fighting ejection. This is listed in every after-the-fact game note that is publicly available.

3. Some time after the game, Houston coaches get a letter saying that it was upgraded to a fighting ejection, by the BIG 12, not the NCAA, warranting a suspension.

4. No one tells Haulcey.

5. Haulcey leaves Houston high and dry in the spring, they feel no obligation to tell him.

I believe someone butthurt at Houston leaked it to Clemson. If Haulcey didn't know, and Houston didn't have a duty to inform LSU of an internal BIG 12 decision, there is zero chance LSU would have known about this.

Just chicken shite from Houston, Clemson, and the NCAA.

Why didn’t we know before? Seems like that would be someone’s job.

I would assume LSU was operating under the assumption that it was an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. Only Houston knew it was upgraded to “fighting” by the Big 12.

If the Big 12 upgraded it, not the NCAA, why do we have to honor it?

LSU should appeal at last minute, let him play and then make him sit out against LA Tech.

Not carefully. I see it now.

To be absolutely clear, I acknowledge that I am the a-hole on this one. Sorry, baw. I’ll do better.

If that's true, then you play him no matter what. The Big 12 has no authority.

That seems pretty easy.

The NCAA never notified Haulcey.

Play him.

Sue the NCAA and Big 12, and play him.

If only there was an organization that oversaw all the teams and players, handled transfers, and dealt with suspensions and shite.

If only....

I just find it hard to blame LSU here after seeing the facts set forth like that. If they didn't even inform Haulcey while he was at Houston, why would they inform LSU once he left? I doubt they have a duty to.

This is to our benefit. Yes he’s a good player. But we have other talented safeties. Clemson snitching is a bad look and will help rally the team to come in pissed off. They don’t need this of course but it does help.

Here's one thing you left out. The other player involved who was also ejected and also plays in the Big 12 had to sit out the first half of the Alamo bowl. So even if Houston did not inform LSU, clearly LSU should have had notice that Haulcy may be suspended.

Well before Wednesday LSU very much knew it was likely. They were just planning to play dumb and play him in the game vs. Clemson. Worst case scenario they get tagged after the fact and deal with the consequences then.
