Look I’m a pretty optimistic person. In all facets of life.

But.. we lost every opener for last 5 years. Odds against us for sure looking at the spread. Sorry I feel this way but I do.

So, we paid a guy $9.5m to win and yet we’ve failed to win an opener game with him. Last year should have been a better year with the weapons we had.

Im looking forward to a win and by a wide margin. I don’t want to win by a few points. I want to see our coaches and players engaged with a large margin win. For goodness sake we paid $18m for the team
as well. Let’s play like we are a blue bloods.

Well buckle up, this will be a battle. Can’t ever expect a team to come out swinging on all cylinders. It’s rare. Take a look at the week 0 games for instance.

I'd be ecstatic with a 3-2 win.

This is our best chance to pull it off since BK has been here with this roster, but a night win on the road like this to open the season will be tough.

Possible, yes. I’m hopeful and there’s good reason we should all be hopeful, more so than past years for sure.

Im just fed up with losing an opener.

The excuses from BK and staff. Horrible presses from him.

Winning an opener against a #4 team is huge. But losing it hurts and sets the tone for rest of season. Not to mention an embarrassment.

Time to nut up and win big.

9-3 has been my prediction for a while now. I’d be surprised if they win a season opener at such a tough place to play.

I mean we could play a nobody for an opener.

So, if you play Clemson you better be sure you win.

It’s gonna be tough. For Clemson to come out with their senior QB, first game of the year at home, and lose, is pretty unlikely. Our current track record in openers does not help. But we have our own senior QB with a pretty talented roster behind him, so there’s a chance.

2027 will be worse than this year so better sack up and make the Playoff

If LSU loses to Clemson they will lose at least 2 more games and BK will be fired within 2 years because all the key players will be gone and recruiting won’t keep up.

I trust drinks with Bill Cosby more than Kelly in an opener. Clemson is loaded. I will be betting on Clemson, I hope I lose!

Do you think Brian Kelly scheduled this game? I'm sure he'd love a tune up game for a change.
Worst thing is, not a single one of his openers has taken place in Tiger Stadium.

This is nonsense in this thread just as it was nonsense in the other thread .

BK has to prove it now, until we win an opener we have lost them all under him. Simple as that. He has the talent, we have spent the money and now we need to win.

We haven't backed down from having tough games to one of the always toughest SEC slates, so the powers that be think we are ready to win these games. Let's do it!

I think it can go either way. Two proven QBs, some very talented rosters. I am apprehensive about our OLine. Playing on the road in a loud stadium isn’t how you want to break them in either.

I’m also stable enough (I think) to realize that in the modern CFP, a loss in the opener isn’t a death sentence. Honestly, I just want to see the team come out and play a solid 4 quarters of football. We haven’t seen that in an opener for some time.

Yes, a score like that would mean Traditional Kick arse LSU Defense is back!

It would also mean that BK/Sloan have no clue what to do with all the plethora of WR's, TE's and RB's and as predicted, the Offensive Line Talent and Coaching is unacceptably horrendous and dysfunctional................

Here's hoping I don't get laughed out of Death Valley Saturday and driving home in misery for 10 hours.
