No. 9 LSU travels to Clemson, SC to face No. 4 Clemson this Saturday in the 2025 season opener. Kickoff is set for 6:30pm CT on ABC.

This will be just the fifth meeting between the two schools. LSU leads the overall series 3–1, including wins in both its 1958 and 2019 national championship seasons. Click HERE for the series history.

Clemson is a 4-point favorite over LSU. The over/under is 57.5 points.

The ABC/ESPN team of play-by-play man Chris Fowler and color commentator Kirk Herbstreit will call the game.

Tidbits from the press conference:
- Garrett Nussmeier awarded No.18

- Harold Perkins still wears No. 7

- Team captains are Garrett Nussmeier and Whit Weeks. There will also be two game day captains each week.

- Kelly says Cade Klubnik played his best ball at end of last season. This will be his third year as starter. Dual-threat...He is central to their run game. Need to keep him in the pocket.

- No significant injuries to report...everyone is available to play.

- Plan is to rotate extensively on the offensive line...could play up to 8 players.

- Kelly says this year has most depth of any of his previous LSU teams...very mature.

- Defense is really confident right now...

- DE Gabe Reliford has handled competition well and has stood out to coaches.

Time for BK to prove he can win an opener against a good team.

I do. Means they aren’t going to stick with one guy even if he’s getting his arse whooped. What I’m hoping is that they’re giving Chester the start because of experience but Mubenga/Echols have really pushed for that starting spot. I have no problem with letting it be a battle. If Chester isn’t doing his job then next man up.

It means we have some quality depth. Havent had that in a long time.

Or it means none of them have created any separation and just aren’t that great.

I guess we will see Saturday but this is not very inspiring.

Hoping I’m dead wrong!

He likely feels confident rotating guards because we have the right center in place to get everyone in the right spot. Chester was learning on the fly last year, so it was better to keep the same 5 out there.

I suppose it could mean that. But I think more likely it means what we've heard reported from practice and BK himself. The Center, LT, and RG spots are nailed down. There's still "competition" at LG and RT...which means no one has really separated from the competition at those spots. Thus, the staff will have to see what it looks like in the game, and the plan may be to start one guy at LG and one at RT, then put two different players in their on the next series. Then, after that, they will go with who they thought looks best.

At least he mentioned it. STOP the damn QB from running! That should be Perkins job all year. If that qb runs wild again I will lose it.

I don’t either. I guess my point is I would think it would be best for those battles happen during practice and not mid game. Maybe I’m wrong though.

It takes more than one guy to stop the QB from running. Yea in a passing situation you can spy the QB but we got hurt on Zone Read/Power Read last year. A spy isn't stopping that. Sound assignment football stops that.

- Regarding Center Braelin Moore: started for VA Tech last year and played a game at Clemson last season. That experience will be helpful to the offense.

Might be worth noting that VA Tech hasn’t played a game at Clemson since 2012. Guess he misspoke on that one.
