Why can't you post fish pictures anymore?Without people being offended?

Every time I look at big fish people post, they get offended and want to throw them back.
Not me . I'm either eating it or selling it.
This new generation, I guess would rather eat fish sticks.
And throw the fish that you catch back

Same reason you can't kill a spike or 4 or 6 point buck for meat and not have 30 people tell you that you should have let it walk. Trophy-itis has overrun the fun of sporting.

Meh, it's just social media. 9 out of 10 of those folks if they walked up to your truck while you were pumping gas and saw a spike on the back of your ATV would tell you, "congratulations".

If you caught it it belongs to you and you can do whatever you want to with it. Life has much bigger problems to deal with than what someone does with a fish.

It takes about the same amount of time to filet a big female that it does a small buck bass. You get more meat from the big female.

I’ve been on one tuna trip this year and it was the best one I’ve had in a few years. Caught our limit. A couple charter captains commented that we kept too many…Pretty comical. I fully support the charter Buisness too.

One, the smaller bass taste better to me. Two, the big female is capable of producing millions of fry to help restock the lake.

Was just thinking this about fly fishing. And I'm a bit guilty myself, I have a couple cool heads hanging in my home office.
But I am getting better at fly fishing and was just thinking "man I don't really care if I just catch little stuff, I hope I can get out on the water more with my son".

I haven't noticed a difference. I do cook them differently, though. I usually fry the smaller fillets and save the big ones for blackening.

Most of the places I fish would benefit from having fewer bass. Yeah, there is the big fish genetics argument but once a female has hit 7 or 8 lbs she's already spawned multiple times.

But, as far as killing little bucks goes, kill what you’re proud of. Put food on the table. Just don’t expect others to congratulate you if you post it like it’s a trophy or hard to kill. You don’t need others’ approval anyway.

U can't post pics without buzzards. Some people fish by social media. The new bent pole. You can blur out your background but eventually you will be seen.

Catch and release is a highly misleading. Multiple factors involved but catching a 3 pound LM in 20 feet of water in August in Georgia will lead to about half, according to some studies, of such fish dying after release....the longer it stays out of the water and is manhandled to get a picture and wiping off the protective coating of slime that all fish have the higher the likelihood of that fish succumbing to the ordeal. All fish are similar...water temperature, depth, length of time out of the water, length of fight (light tackle anglers are the worst culprits although unwitting ones) type of hook used and depth of hooking all play a factor. I have been catching and releasing for YEARS thinking I was doing almost no harm when in fact it is pretty damaging depending on multiple factors.
All that to say if you eat them keep them...they only survive somewhere in the neighborhood of 75% of the time anyway, according to most studies....and some species are less likely than others.

I wouldn't BUT it is highly likely the bigger the fish is the less likely it will survive being caught in all conditions and across all species....I was taught as a child that female fish make more fish, which they certainly do, and should not be kept, especially if they are heavy with roe or caught off a bed (another REALLY bad idea). It is not possible to not catch females....despite what my buddies say about my ability to catch ANY fish...but many do not survive being released anyway. If it is bleeding from the gills you may as well keep it, it probably ain't going to survive anyway, if its a truly big fish caught on light tackle in extremely hot water you may as well keep it, it probably ain't going to survive anyway. I thought for years that catch and release works and it does but to the degree that many thing it does...hundreds of studies indicate it is pretty stressful on all species in all conditions to be caught and especially handled.

My BIL is a pescatarian (he has alpha gal or whatever it's called from the lonestar ticks) and is an avid fisherman. He throws everything he catches back and buys fish at Whole Foods. I'm always thinking OK bruh you're not going to collapse the bream population by keeping a few.
