Does The Advocate realize LSU always trumps Texas in its home base?

What was with all the 3-page wrap in today's BATON ROUGE edition on Arch Manning and his grandfather, instead of a similar presentation/layout of Garrett Nussmeier?
It's understandable for the New Orleans edition to have such a package front and center on a hometown guy, touting the relationship with his grandfather, but that story probably didn't play well in Tiger Country.

Are they even based in BR anymore?
20+ years ago The Advocate had the best sports section you could possibly ask for in a mid size city.

I grew up looking forward to grabbing the Advocate off the driveway every morning to read the sports section. Now, they want people to pay for a subscription to read their stories that I can get for free elsewhere? frick that shite.

The best The Advocate is The Sadvocate.

Appreciate the grammar correction in your title

Does your business give away products/services for free?

IT IS THE POOLAME ADVOCATE. When the Manship’s sold out to that clown in NOLA you noticed all the Bama touting and pumping everything but LSU. Sam King would shite all over all of them,

I'm not in the media business with a publication. Hard newspapers, yes, should have a cost. But there are many sports media sources offering free online content to readers to drive more web traffic- to maximize their revenue from advertisers.

The Advocate is now a branch of the Times-Picayune. It's owned by a Tulane grad who is a New Orleans native, so will always favor NOLA content.
The owner was also in politics and would switch political affiliations whenever he felt it would favor his political ambitions.
I expect nothing good from any Louisiana print media, and, sadly, the Times-Picayune/Advocate papers are probably the best at giving local content written by local writers. Most of the other small "local" papers are owned by Gannett (USA Today)

My guess is Arch will end up being a good QB, but he has 61 total completions. He hasn’t proven anything yet.

Remember when the Advocate had one of the best sports sections in the country? Now it's just a liberal rag. Sad.

For local online content, The Shreveport-Bossier Advocate has absolutely left the Shreveport Times in the dust.

Unfortunately, newspapers did not see the wave of independent "journalists" coming (or at least they did nothing to react to it). So, staff sizes were cut and anyone who was a decent journalist either found other employment or struck out on their own.
Now, all we've got are content creators and big media-owned slop (case in point).

The same is true of the Acadiana Advocate vs the Daily Advertiser in Lafayette.

"A liberal rag". If any doubt, just browse through letters to the editor & its editorial pages. By a large majority, the letters are from N.O. libs attacking POTUS Donald Trump & his policies. And it's the paper's editors who manage the letters' content.....as well as for the columnists on the editorial pages. Largely nationally syndicated liberals, with 2 exceptions: both locals are 100% liberals as well. Practically any article covering the Gaza problem is co-written by a person with an Arab-sounding name. That bias is not debatable.

And those of you who like high school sports coverage in BR, that is very likely to get scale way down also.

The legacy media has nothing to offer in 2025.

I didn't ask if you were in the media business, I asked if you give away your products or services for free.
You said that you aren't willing to "pay for stories that you can get elsewhere for free." Well, yes and no - you can get stories, but not the same stories, which leads to people having to determine how much they value those particular stories.
Now that I'm a big fan of too many sports journalists, but pretty much any slapdick with a computer can pump out stories, but one needs to make a value judgment at that point.
I find it interesting that you say you loved the print version (too bad more people didn't or we wouldn't really be having this discussion) but somehow you see the online version as having less value.
Oh well, chacun son goût.
