I am just wondering if any one has got some insight in to this? Bought my grandson a jersey but would like to exchange it if the player switches numbors

That’s Blasphemy brother.
If players feel a certain player should continue the tradition and wear that number, we should just sit back and appreciate it for what it is.

18 is fine. It's basically the team voted #1 leader. And it's not manufactured. It came about pretty organically.

I think it’s just extra nonsense to talk about too. But at least that tells us something about a player.
A guy like Josh Williams wore that number last year and I’d hang a portrait of his on the wall in the LSU locker room with a caption.
He was true teammate, good man and great player.
Should be an honor to wear that number, it’s not manufactured, it’s real.

I got the chance to briefly meet Josh Williams last year after his monster game against Vanderbilt. He’s a very polite and humble young man. Glad he had 18 last year.

Pretty surprised no announcement yesterday. Possibly getting it today or BK will announce at presser tomorrow? Was really expecting to have some fun scrimmage intel plus that this morning, but sounds like it wasn’t a true scrimmage

It’s not “manufactured”. The dumb threads on it all the time is nauseating but it’s not some manufactured tradition. It’s something a quality qb started and passed on to someone he felt deserving. And so on and so on.
If it means something to the players the only thing manufactured is the faux outrage about what players inside their locker room choose to do to appointment leadership. We should just enjoy it if they choose to continue it.
