Were there challenges to ‘US citizens must pass a covid test’ to return to the country?

I was traveling internationally when this was a thing. US citizens traveling abroad were required to present a negative covid test in order to re-enter the US.

There were various ways to ‘comply’ with this…

I remember thinking at the time, does this pass Constitutional muster? I don’t recall any anything like this being even remotely referenced in the Constitution (barring citizens from returning home).

Was the policy ever challenged in court?

you couldn't get on a plane without a negative covid test from within 3 days of your flight headed to the US.

Flying isn't a constitutional right so would be tough to have grounds for a case.

That’s not really how the constitution works

What a retarded time to be alive .

Even if you weren’t symptomatic, covid positive ? Quarantine !

Can’t enter the US as if it was plague with a 90% fatality rate

Don’t you dare enter this country with the sniffles

But illegals bringing god knows what with no vaccination history to anything came in by the tens of thousands illegally at the border and they didn’t a single frick about public health

Absolutely insane . All of it

Please expound. Is it legal to set conditions for non-criminal citizens to be able to return to the US?

Trump part 2 hasn’t been shy about jumping into local situations with attorneys or national guard. However, during the COVID lockdowns, they were noticeably absent.

I think it's probably more to do with they didn't want you getting on a plane with a few hundred people if you had the virus.....

there were no tests required at ferry or land crossings

but obviously you should be free to get 100s of people knowingly sick if you want to, it's a free country. right?

you are the reason they had to make rules like that, people that have no consideration for others.

If they were properly masked and vaccinated then what are they so afraid of ?

If you were that worried anyway, you wouldn’t be traveling during a pandemic .

A virus so deadly and dangerous you had to test to even know you had it .

Which made it all the more stupid since the filtered air in an airplane was better at ‘stopping the virus’ than the non-filtered air in an enclosed boat.

149 people that didn't wanna get covid should have the freedom to fly home without having to switch flights just because 1 a-hole that knows he is sick wants to make it home 2 days earlier.

an airline isn't making money flying 1 person across the Atlantic.

I bet you drive all the way up to the merging point rather than getting over early as well and never consider that anyone else has anything as important as what you have to do.

I think everyone who crosses our borders should be free from infectious diseases weather citizen or visitor every time…no exceptions.

Anyone who says this knows they are guilty of acting like an animal during Covid. There’s 22 million excess deaths since January 2020. You don’t want to revisit it because you know you are guilty of basically being a Nazi. You should now know where you would have stood had you been unfortunate enough to live there and at that time.

EDIT: BTW 22 million deaths was the same death toll as WWI, and if you told someone in 1922 to move on, they’d rightly tell you to frick off.

They were afraid that they made the wrong choice by taking the shot, and they were mad at the people who didn’t because they didn’t want to feel stupid.

The Civil Rights Act says otherwise. I can’t have an airline that doesn’t let black people or Jews fly.
