Who is a guide you would call for a gator hunt. Best all around experience. Thanks

Nola Hunt and Fish out of the Rigolets is really good. I know the guys that run it and they are as good as it gets. I think they still stay in a camp on Lake Catherine and you will run crap traps and jug lines for gar if you want as well. They run lines and do open water hunts. They also have access to a very large piece of marsh.

LA gator hunts in Morganza. Think it’s 1,000 and includes the use of their camp. I’m not a gator hunter so not sure if that’s a good price.

RK Adventures on the southern end of the Basin. They have a great setup and you stay in a houseboat. Facespace link

You’re going to be very disappoint after the first one.
That shite on tv is as real as rasslin and they don’t show all the piss and shite.
Gotta double tap those nasty bastids so they don’t come alive next to ya.

We said a long time ago that if we were smart, we'd sell guided gator hunts and we could have people pay us for the opportunity to work their asses off for a day and help us clean them nasty bastards after.

For sure what kemo said.
And don’t let them talk you into cleaning that bastard. That’s the worst part.

Ohh no!! all the guys running the charters make sure that there is plenty of splashing and hollering to make it dramatic.

I've fished with this guy quite a bit (Nick Cheramie). he's got a really nice set up down there. never gator hunted with him, but I believe he's very successful. food is amazing.

My only advice, regardless of who you go with, is make sure cleaning/skinning the gator is included.

I went on an all-inclusive gator hunt a while back. They had the folks waiting at the dock to ask you what you want to do with your hide (prepped for taxidermy, prepped for boots/wallets and such, etc) as well as a whole skinning shed outfitted to make pretty short work for them of getting the meat out. All I could think about was how if I had done this hunt by myself, I would have signed myself up for about two days of follow up chores and tasks. We're talking about a LOT more moving parts than standing around a tailgate with a beer breasting out some doves.

Cerious question, will Rogwieller or American take a single hide to tan?
Kemo Jr’s hide was a year turnaround and someone else sent/dropped it off at American.

Mark Staton was the outfit that took mine, but there were dozens of gators on the dock that day and all of them were going to them, so can't say if they'd take only one.

I also have a sneaking suspicion that there's a better than average chance that I won't be getting "my" hide back. Feels kinda like dropping off "my deer" at the processor. Really no way to know what you're getting back. The gator I got was 10'4'' and I (my wife) got to pick the color and finish for the stuff we'll make out of the hide. I was told that my gator would be enough for two pairs of boots, a handbag, and a bunch of belts, wallets, coasters, etc. The turnaround on just the hide is 12-15 months, so sometime between now and Christmas, I should hear back. Same deal with the head. Its been with Southern Taxidermy for almost a year.

gators are different because the tag stays with the hide.

Louisiana Marsh Adventures offers a day hunt close to New Orleans if that's what you are looking for. (Some others only do a 3-4 day trip)
