A few years ago, there was this nutter up south of Monroe, in Richwood, La that pretty much tried to claim the same thing for the Washita tribe.
Empress Verdiacee Hampton Goston, former mayor of Richwood and head of the Washitaw Nation, or Washitaw de Dutgdahmoundyah, claiming that the United Nations had registered them as indigenous people.
It was unclear to me if she ever claimed to be part of the bloodline but she was the source of a lot crap 30 years ago and she was quite the trip.
