Anyone here own a Pathfinder 2400 or 2200? Feedback? Dry, reasonable ride, issues?

Considering the purchase of an older hull (~2012) to repower and do not see many around Hopedale or Venice area I fish regularly.

They are more popular in Florida and I'm assuming it's because of their draft. Any insight is appreciated..

Pathfinder makes good boats. Not the chinky thin chop gunned junk that some others put out there.

Yes, although the dry, reasonable ride is more dependent on who is at the controls IMO. No issues with the hull on the one I fish out of.

Best friend had a 2001 2400. Great boat. We are in TX and it handled West Galveston bay no problems. Originally had a Yamaha OX66 250 on it and he repowered with a Zuke 250SS not long before selling. Ran really well with both. We drifted and waded a ton out of that thing before he sold it to order a new Haynie 25 Magnum.

i've fished 1800, 2200, 2400, and 2600. Liked them all. Never owned one though.

Like others said, the ride is usually dependent on the captain. But good boats!

I came close to pulling trigger on a 2600 but I'm not comfortable taking single engine boats offshore. In FL, you're not running super far out like you have to here out of Cameron.

2200 w 250 was THE boat back in the day on Big Lake before the haynie's hit the market. It was pretty much pathfinders or kenners.

I have the 1806, it’s older but a great boat
Only complaint is lack of storage which shouldn’t be an issue in the 2200 or 2400

fished a 22 for a long time. Love it. Older hulls do have a lack of storage compared to newer models, but not to say anything is uncomfortable.

the one problem that you must manage is moisture getting into the fuel tank. we have solved this by completely filling the tank after every use.

I’ve spent a good bit of time on a bunch of Pathfinders, including an older 2400 and I like it a lot. Boat has a 300 Yamaha and it hugs the water really well. Fast enough to get on top of short period chop and stay there. Drafts fairly shallow for a boat its size. The storage layout is pretty good and IMO the boat fishes really well. It’s probably a 2013-2014 if I had to guess.

I would not buy a new Pathfinder. Or anything from MBG post-Malibu acquisition. Another friend of mine has to have a 2500 hybrid hull replaced after 6 months because of repeated stress cracks down the chines on both sides. I know another guy with a 23 TRS whose console came loose while running. Both of those were post-acquisition boats.

Rode a BB 2200 which is a splash of the PF 2200, was not impressed. Ride was wet and ruff but the owner operator only had two speeds; stopped and WOT.
Have a survey done and research questionable construction years.

BB? Bulls Bay? Can you not spell it out?

Your goddamn attempts at shorthand/abbreviations are frickin confusing and ridiculous at times on this forum - must be intentional.

I have a 2016 2400TRS and love it. Great riding boat for South Louisiana and has a shallow draft. Caught a lot of fish on it. Next boat will likely be a 26 footer of some sort.

I own a 2003 2200V Pathfinder with a 250 Yamaha. I like the boat. its fast and pretty dry. Has plenty enough storage for me. I even insulated the front right compartment for fish so there is one less loose ice chest in the boat. If i could do it again i would get he 24, but who doesn't want a bigger boat. I love the layout. I fish Cocodrie and its a great boat for the area. From what i see, if the waves are too big for me in the 22 ft boat, the water is probably chocolate and the fish wont be biting. If you run more marsh than open water, stay with the 22.

I have one of the older hulls that wasnt rated for a 250, so i have a problem with water drain off the floor, but the newer models shouldnt have that issue.

Its funny you say that they aren't popular in Louisiana. I've had the same thought. But ive realized it all depends where you fish. Cocodrie has more Blackjacks, but Fouchon gated community has mostly Pathfinders on lifts.

I fish Venice a few times a year and having a fast boat really helps the long runs down river.

Malibu Boats acquired Maverick Boat Group on January 5, 2021. This acquisition included brands like Maverick, Hewes, Pathfinder, and Cobia, expanding Malibu's presence in the saltwater fishing market, according to Float Financ

I didn't know that. I'd be amazed if quality doesn't suffer. It always does in big acquisitions. It's not always immediate, but it is inevitable.

For the prices these mass produced boats command nowadays it's no wonder you start seeing the semi-customs mentioned more often now.

Maverick had problems before they sold that will just be amplified with Malibu.
PE owns yellowfin, invincible and some I can’t think of right now. They’re going to put the Bass Pro to them and wring erry $ they can.
PE= Private Equity

Hold the price, cut the manf cost, add some shiny bits = PROFIT MAFUKKAS

Man I sure do hope my old sled gets me 20 more years.

Pathfinder was always one that I felt like was always going to be a solid option. I've only fished on two of them, older ones, and man they are solid and fast and well thought out.
