In 1962, LSU lost to undefeated Ole Miss at home. No way to claim that.

Iowa claims 1958 national championship.
Iowa was beaten by 10 points by Ohio State and they tied Air Force. Out of every AP and Coaches poll that season Iowa was ranked number 1 a total of zero times.
LSU was undefeated that season and ranked number 1 a total of 11 times including number 1 in the last AP/Coaches poll.
Iowa fans think b/c they beat a bad team in their bowl they deserve the national championship. No lie.

If Auburn can claim 9, by their logic 2011 holds more clout than 7 of their titles. The 2011 LSU team had one of the best resumes of all time, not sure what else to say. I wouldn’t claim it but by the logic of our rival universities LSU has plenty of reason to.

Auburn is a loser for claiming those additional championships. LSU would look like a loser if they claimed the 2011 National Championship. LSU had a great season but didn't win the National Championship.

I’m not saying LSU should claim it. I’m just pointing out that the criteria about 50 other schools hold for their bunk natties hold less weight than what LSU accomplished in 2011.

The whole point of "claiming" national titles in the past is due to their not being an actual championship game until the BCS came to play.
I'm fine with 1908, but anyone thinking we should claim 2011 is a simp.

Yeah but you act like half of these universities actually have legitimate claim to their bullshite national titles. If I’m not mistaken Alabama has a couple of natties where they had 2-3 losses including a bowl game loss.
By all metrics of schools claiming bullshite national titles the 2011 team is more than qualified compared to many I’ve seen.
But once again I’m saying just claim 1908 and call it a day.
