On this one issue alone I would vote for Ron in '28.

I don't believe we have enough good politicians to pass it because most of them suck donkey balls but I support Ron here, bigly.

Even worse is paying extra property tax because you have a "dwelling" on your property like a storage shed.

Will property transfers be subject to regular sales tax instead? Genuinely curious. I think that would be preferable.

Certainly support, but is that a federal issue?

Property taxes pay for public schools, local government services like police and fire departments, roads etc.

If you own your land or your home outright are you going to quit using those services?

No but that doesn't seem to have stopped anyone since about the 1870s

If Ron gets something done in Florida and it gets traction in other states, he will win 2028 in a landslide.

Agreed, but property taxes are a hyper-local issue that funds local government. I think they are bullshite, but I don't see the mechanism for the federal government to have any role in their cancellation or reduction.

Sales taxes would increase to 50%.

Renters don't use those services?

idk if you understand how rentals
work.

but if your renter isn’t paying your property taxes with their rent, you’re doing something wrong as a landlord

Yes, and their rent covers the renters portion of their property taxes if the owner has priced the rent correctly.

Yes but it’s built into rent. Don’t be so dense. That’s part of why rent increases each year etc.

The argument that “I’ll just rent a house so I don’t pay property taxes” even exists is dumb

It should work the other way, these services should only be available to property owners. Also, only property owners should vote on property taxes????

Boy I would love to stop wasting my hard earned money on these shitty services in my area because I've given up hope that the dumbasses in charge will ever figure out a way to spend the tax money efficiently to provide even marginally competent services.

They going to get it one way or another...BUT this way you wouldnt be required to pay the tax.. just have higher sales tax. Quit giving to all the welfare abusers and you have plenty.

Renters are renting a property owned by someone, who is paying property taxes

The founders only wanted property owners to vote. As it should be
