He is gonna start the early part of the year, but Shough is going to take over at some point unless we are winning. No reason to not test Shough in season with the full compliment of starters unless we are competitive.

I think we should start Rattler for the first 3 games and see how he does. This will be his make or break season. See if he can improve as the season goes on and if not, move on to Shough and try to trade Rattler at the trade deadline

Do you ride with Shough next year if you have a very high pick if you only see him for a few games?

The season is already broke. We are terrible and playing for the number 1 overall pick in 2026. I like our chances.

Thats the biggest problem drafting him. If you have a top 3 pick, you have to go QB, and then you show people you wasted the #40 pick last year.

Not really that big of a problem. Keep taking swings at qb till you get it

I agree on horrible throw to line but maybe he was trying to hit him and wake him up!! The line was terrible so I don’t think you can completely blame quarterback when he gets hit every time he drops back

Why? Because he looked good against Jax’s 4th string defense?

So OP likes a Saints team that never wins? As in “there’s never been a win with Rattler at QB”.

If you're talking about Shough's intentional grounding call, WTF was Ruiz doing standing at the line of scrimmage when the QB and entire Oline and Dline were 7 yards in the back field.

Dude was a space cadet out there day dreaming while the entire play blew past him.

It would have made more sense if he were sitting on the ground picking flowers or something.

I don't blame Shough at all. He was trying to get rid of the ball with 7 300+ pound guys in his face. Whether he threw it out of bounds or at Ruiz he was getting the IG call but Ruiz should have never been there a RB or TE should have come back. Ruiz should have been 7 yards deep getting his arse handed to him like the rest of the Oline.

Now I agree Rattler at this point should get the chance to show he can lead the team into the regular season, but that by no means ends the Shough experiment. fwiw, I think they take this to the last preseason game before making a final decisions.

Thats the way the Browns do it. You take swings when you have a pitch worth hitting. There was no reason to take Shough at 40. It’s a wasted pick that could have filled a roster hole with a premiere young talent.
