Biotech stock. Just received FDA approval for a rare HPV caused disease. It's the only approved drug in the world to treat this type of disease.
LINK
They have another drug in FDA testing that is looking good, too. They'll basically be able to set their own price for the drug since it's the only approved in the world, it will save lives, and it avoids many very expensive surgeries.
quote:
PAPZIMEOS is a non-replicating adenoviral vector-based immunotherapy designed to target the root cause of RRP - human papillomavirus (HPV) types 6 and 11. The treatment is administered through four subcutaneous injections over a 12-week period.
The approval was supported by data from a pivotal study that met both safety and efficacy endpoints. In the trial, 51% of patients achieved a Complete Response, requiring no surgeries in the 12 months following treatment. Of the 18 patients who achieved Complete Response, 15 continued to show this response at the 24-month evaluation.
RRP is a rare and potentially life-threatening disease affecting the respiratory tract that has traditionally been managed through repeated surgeries. These procedures do not address the underlying cause of the disease and can lead to significant complications.

Don't go too crazy. They still need to raise cash, set pricing with insurance, and figure out distribution. I think a year from now it'll be $6 to $10.

If I’ve learned anything about small pharmas, it’s that you sell after drug success (especially phase 3), and before commercialization.
Granted, not every scenario is the same.

Yeah I haven't looked specifically at this drug. But generally the thesis for earnings is much more optimistic than the actual deals put in place to get on pbm formularies.
I would have saved a lot of money selling after FDA approval

Know it doesn’t affect today, but around 10 years ago this stock was like $45. What happened for it to drop so low?

It's going to take a while to ramp up. It was just approved. Roughly 27k patients here in the US. Probably 100k worldwide. Selling the worldwide rights alone will likely 2x or 3x the stock.
The investor call this morning was semi lackluster. They did disclose the treatment cost: 115k per vial. Four vials per year, so $460k per treatment with the possibility of repeat treatments for some patients.

I got in at 2.66 today. Nice little profit today

2.66 was a solid entry.
Quick cap of the #s:
460k per patient treatment
Rough estimate of 27,000 patients in the US
Rough estimate of 2,500 new patients in the US
Probably 70,000 to 100,000 patients worldwide
Possibility of re-treatment for some patients
The company only has about six months' worth of runway, cash-wise. They increased their authorized shares recently, so they will be offering shares soon. Will be some dilution.
Selling just their international rights alone should make the stock jump to ~$4 to $7.
We'll see how they execute.
