And I'm glad the judge didn't give him any. I'd prefer the full 19 months the prosection wants but this is a huge win. The cop told the judge his family would lose everything even if he was jailed for a month. Oh well buddy, good luck with the foreclosure. Hopefully his wife and children can run away from him now.

Every suspect he arrested should go back to court with the same argument.

I see this lawyer on Youtube, has a channel primarily about civil rights violations. The biggest thing these bloggers, influencers or what ever they call themselves content is called "1st amendment auditors? They go out in public, on sidewalks and film anything that can be seen with there eyes.

Business' confront them then call the cops. Cops respond, ask them what they are doing, and can I see your ID? Almost everyone them repeats the same thing. Am I being detained? Yes. Then hits the cop with R A S, you have to have reasonable articulate suspicion that I've committed a crime or about to commit a crime.

Yea but they mistake in saying the cop has to articulate it to the suspect. While I do think it might be a good idea at times, a lot of these first amendment auditors don’t think they have to comply before the cop explains his full reasoning. That’s not how it works.

The cop lost his shite in jail to a woman who was not a cooperative or compliant detainee, and he should have been fired. And pleading no contest, he automatically gets a felony on his record which fricks him. I don't think 6 months for that, given all the context, was lenient. I would have given him the 11 days time served, you can't be a cop, and you are now a convicted felon. That's a lot of punishment for a one-time frickup, without additional jail time.

I watch a lot of The Civil Rights Lawyer's stuff, and he's pretty good, but I disagree with him on this one.

Yall in here talking about the first amendment auditors. SMH,

Agree it’s off topic but just wanted to correct a common misunderstanding

A cop isn't a citizen when they are on duty. They're an extension of the government. They should be held to higher standards and greater punishments. He permanently disfigured the lady and you think six months is too much?

1st amendment auditors?

There is one that tries to pick fights so he can get roughed up and sue the department. He got called out during one of them by a cop saying are you just looking to get paid again? Those 1st amendment auditors are massive douche bags.

Nah. They don’t get paid enough for that.

You want better cops? Force your elected leaders to pay them more and hire higher quality individuals.

Then that must mean you also excuse the bad behavior of minimum wage workers at fast food restaurants and such.

And as popular as it is, some dumb cops still fall for it. Then the dept settles the lawsuit with taxpayer money and nothing happens to cop.

Yeah I did.

The woman was drunk and belingerent but that didn't give the cop carte Blanche to put the girl's head through glass.

He's a POS who thankfully will never be a cop again, but he should have got more time.

And the girl is pretty hot.
