Kid was talking to me when they announced it at the end of church so I didn’t hear all the way. Is that what they said?

I'll bet that Hamas is stealing all of the aid that they can get their hands on. I don't know what to do about that.

I was under the impression the bishop wants it done throughout the Baton Rouge dioceses.

No doubt about it. I’m ending my monthly donation to my church because of it. I’ll just add it to my St. Jude donation each month instead. I’m not voluntarily funding any organization that’s going to fund Hamas.

We are supposed to give to the church, though.

If you can’t in good conscience give to the church you belong to, I’d suggest you consider why, and whether or not you should go somewhere else.

Since when did Christians stop caring about suffering people?

That’s exactly what was said. Absolutely ridiculous.

Exactly.... your tithe belongs to your home church. If you feel that, for whatever reason, you can no longer give your tithe to your home church, then perhaps you need to find a new home church.

I’m not in the 60-100 yo age group so I don’t go to Saturday vigil Mass. I was going to stick around for it after Confession, but decided to go to adoration instead. I’ll report back after noon Mass tomorrow.

Our parish did have a visiting Maryknoll priest several weeks ago that gave the homily and was staunchly anti-Israel/pro-Palestine. Caught him talking to a parishioner afterwards and IIRC he called Netanyahu a psychopath or some equally derogatory name. I was floored to hear a priest speaking in such definitive and opinionated manner.

It is a holy thing to take care of your enemies. Jesus calls us to do so, however, the money will more than likely just go to Hamas.

The ability to differentiate between good and bad in this situation makes sending money worthless. Nothing can be accomplished with our money. If he is truly calling for this, it’s a mistake that won’t move the needle unless they push. Regardless, It’s stupid and a bad look imo
