Has there ever been a player with fewer starts who was the favorite to win the Heisman???

Arch might be good…. But no one has any idea. Let alone for betting sites to have him as the odds on favorite with some guys behind him with 3-4 years of experience.

I think this is going to be a historical account of how you do not do a kid this dirty.

All the other young kids who were hyped as Heisman candidates had at least a little bit of tape and reason to believe in it.

This seems like a completely media hyped disaster.

If he can handle the hype pressure and the team is successful then he will be in the conversation. I doubt they put him in many situations to fail.

I think some folks think that Peyton, Eli and his grandfather coached him alot but cooper said they didn’t have much influence on his progress.

Like other qbs his success will depend mainly on the talent surrounding him.

Chris Weinke won the Heisman is his third year as a starter. In addition to being 28 years old, he also had well over twenty games of experience, including an undefeated NC season, heading into his senior year when he won the Heisman.

I imagine there was a lot of Heisman hype surrounding Weinke heading into the 2000 season, but he also had a lot of experience and accomplishments to warrant any hype.

meh, his advanced numbers and pff grades were elite in10 quarters when Ewers was out and the film checks out. He’s pretty much a carbon copy of Andrew Luck, maybe a bit more fluid/less robotic mechanically

4,000 total yards and ~35-40 total TD’s seems like a safe bet. If Texas is a top 6 seed in the playoffs, that wins the heisman most years. Really the only questions remaining are ability to stay healthy, avoid turnovers and perform in big games/under pressure

Tua was favorite in 2018 with 0 career starts

2021 was
Rattler +550
DJ Ug +600 0 starts
Bryce Young +800 0 starts
CJ Stroud +1000 0 career passing attempts
JT Daniel’s +1200 not even team’s starter that year

Arch being the favorite isn’t that egregious, but the smart bet, ignoring odds, is Klubnik and it’s really not close.

Taking them into consideration, best +ev might be Beck. 100% drug addict, but talent in undeniable, has weapons, schedule is a joke, 22:1 and no one is gunning for Miami

It's obviously due to his name and hype. That said, to a tee everyone says the kid is legit. I'm starting to believe them. I've been very critical of how he's been treated since he was a high schooler by the media but that's beyond his control so no real issue with the kid. Maybe he's as good as the hype. He'll get his chance to show it. It will not be due to lack of talent around him. Texas is loaded.

Well, can’t fix stupid. Last year Ewers and Arch combined for 3,400 yards and 38 TD’s in the regular season. And that was with Ewers playing the entire second half of the season injured and the red zone offense being inept

Christ, last season Milroe had 3400 yards and 35 TD's
