Just blew out the sole of some Dan Posts. Made it 13 years on the original soles so no complaints there. Any recs on a good cobbler in the BR area to resole them?

Good run, you don’t wear them that much. No clue but get ready for sticker shock, my guy is close to $100 for full job. It’s a lost art for sure.
If square toe go hybrid soles and forget about it for another 15 yrs.

That's about what I'm expecting. They're exotics and in great condition other than the soles so I don't mind spending the money on it.

$100?

I've had 2 pairs resoled here in the Houston area in the last year and they were both over 150.00 at 2 different places. One was on a pair of Justin's that I don't think I even paid that much for, but I liked the boots too much to just throw them away.

There used to be a boot/shoe store on Florida Blvd across from Bon Marche (or whatever it's called now). I just tried to look it up and can't find it. I had two pairs re-soled by an old black man there about 15 years ago. He did a great job. He might be 100 yrs old now. I can't find that the store is even open anymore.

Millitello's used to be good, but I've heard they went down hill after the old man died.

I have a pair that needs to be repaired at the moment. I'm curious what you are able to find.

Not anymore. Mr. Fred Militello sold it around 2018 or 2019 to a former employee and it has gone down hill. It's also no longer Miletello's it is now "quality shoe service" as part of the sales agreement was to change the name. The old Sherwood location is now Holmes Shoe Hospital. Also not great.

OP take it to Darensbourg's on Drusilla over by the Rouse's, but on the side near the bank. They are only open Tues, Wed, Thurs.

Edgewood Boot Repair on Airline (Across Airline from Cedercrest) also does very good work.

If you are more in the Denham area, Red Wing repairs boots. They do a really good job even on non-Red Wing boots.

My hybred soles are holding up really well considering the mileage I put on them. My elephant boots started with a modified hybred but now have leather and need soles for the third time in 15 yrs. Will spend $ and go hybred. I guess repair is trying to keep up with the outrageous price of exotic boots.

There was an old black man in Vicksburg that was the only guy in town that re-soles boots. You had to pay $40, up front. Dropped my boots off one day and went back a week later to get them. The doors were locked (he kept odd hours). Kept checking in over the next several months, calling and stopping by, but I never could catch him. Turns out he died after I paid him $40 and gave him my boots. So I lost my money and my footwear…

That's about 5 minutes from my office so I'll end up there.

There's a Red Wing store even closer to work than Edgewood. I'll give them a call.

Thanks everybody for the recs.

I don’t know, I used them twice for complete resolve, going with rubber soles instead of the leather soles the boots came with. I prefer the leather but that just won’t hold up doing what I do. So I chose the rubber soles and heels. Old black fellow did the work and it was outstanding. Cost about 34.00 each time. If he died it had to be in the last two years. I have another pair to take to him so I hope he’s still there.
They also stretched a pair for me, a pair I bought that were just too tight. Took a couple of weeks but they did as good as they could and better than I expected. I wish they were just a little bit looser, though. I may take them back and see if they can stretch them some more.
This is(was?) Militellos on Corporare.
If he’s not still there, I would go to Edgewood. Never used them but I heard they were good.

There is a place in Laf and Mandeville that does them. Not sure about BR.

Mussos in Laf and TipTop in Mandeville. I have had boots done at both places and they are both good.

I’ve got a couple pair of dress shoes resoled across the border in Mexico. Don’t know what he uses, but I can wear them out. Got another pair, fixing to drop off.
