Suggestions to beat Anthony's Italian Deli in Baton Rouge for best muffuletta

I am hosting a luncheon group in a few weeks and looking for great muffulettas.
Not too happy with Anthony's as they smash them down in a press, and not a big fan of their olive salad.
Appreciate suggestions in the Baton Rouge area.

There's a chick in a FB group I'm in who swears by it. I told her to try Napoleon House (my personal fave) and she did, but said Monjuni's is better

I bet that I have tried muffulettas from over 20 places and CG has consistently been the worst one that I have ever had.
Tried it on 3 separate occasions and its just not good.
Yeah, yeah. I know they invented it. blah blah blah Much better muffs to be had than theirs

One good thing about opinions, everyone has one. Kinda like assholes, most people have one too…

I also don't care for the Central Grocery muffalatta. R & O is my favorite. The olive salad has a little kick. I had one from the Cannatella original grocery store and it was delicious.

One of my favorites came from Lovecchio’s Deli back when it was on Apple St in Norco. Haven't been there in 8 years and I hear they moved to St Rose.
R&O's was my 2nd favorite.

You'll get shite on, and I think it being the worst might be hyperbole, but every time I've had it, I sit there thinking "it's fine, but it's nothing special."

When I'm in the area and go there, I get one "packed to travel" with extra olive salad. I put it together at home.

I agree. It always tastes just a little off.

Is Cannatella Grocery equipped for a group to sit down and enjoy and talk for a couple of hours, or is it strictly buy and take out?
Same for all of the other recommendations--all sound worthy of trying but I need a sit down, social event venue.
