There were some good aspects to the game …..
This will take time.

Should’ve started the tank years ago

Another decade and two more coaches and we’re in the playoffs.

The problem is that as long as they remain in salary cap fricking hell, they really can’t rebuild. Loomis has been restructuring all of these contracts for all of these years and that is what has prevented us from rebuilding. We’re still there. It’ll be another 2 to 3 years before we can really start rebuilding. All because Loomis is a complete fricking moron.
For all those years that Sean Payton and Drew Brees were running the show, Loomis was a GM in name only. He just did what Sean Payton told him to do. But the last 4-5 years he’s been running the show. And now you can see the fricked up results.
The Saints will never be even a decent team until Loomis long fricking gone.
Okay sunshine pumpers, downvote away.

What a great breakdown of the game

I saw a lot of good and alot of bad. But, what did we actually just watch? Some starters snd a lot of players who won’t be on the team. Good? Defense, Shough, Boyd, diggs, Stutsman, Tipton, means. Bad? Rattler, omfg Haener is horrendous, miller wasn’t very good, running game in totality wasn’t great, foskey (this is a given).

Which will frick us when we get 6-8 wins drafting 8-12. We live in mediocrity.
Teams that turn it around gave a few years drafting top 5.

Realistically, I think the talent on this team will realize maybe 4-5 wins, hopefully, giving us a Top 5 draft pick in 2026.
Now whether Moore and Loomis choose to Geaux QB or best player available (BPA)..
Time will tell.
If we do somehow win 6-7 games… that’s NOT reflective of the talent in the team…our draft position would not be advantageous at that point.

Could be sooner than that with actual cap space available. We're so used to not having any that most have forgotten what it's like to add pieces via free agency.

STFU. Cap space is coming retard.

Loomis needs to be wise with the cap space after another year or so of creating the space that hasn’t existed for some time.
He can’t blow all the money on 1-2 players because we are NOT 1-2 players from being a very good team.
That’s the problem with keeping Loomis as the GM of the Saints…..
Loomis has no Longterm vision and that’s why the Cap Disaster was created in the 1st place.

There is little left from 2022 draft. And Penning from 2023 is a bust. Our drafting is horrible, we are going nowhere till that changes...

it's not that as much as it's the Derek Carr and Jairus Byrd's of the world that we remember...
having cap space doesn't ensure they'll spend it wisely... spending our money wisely is a KEY component to our future roster construction, going hand in hand with hitting on rookie players, so we have cheaper contracts on the books with FA supplementing our talent acquitions, not being the main fixture

I get that but if you gonna bring those guys up, you also have to mention the greatest free agent signing in NFL history in Drew Brees.

No doubt there needs to be balance & the core foundation needs to be built through the draft.

you are not wrong on this.
we knew brees was done in 2019 stats be damned. his arm was a limp noodle. was worse the covid year after. as soon as drew was done we shoulda started rebuilding. Loomis put us back years.

I don’t disagree with the message, but
You do realize they were in cap hell when Drew & Sean were here. Difference is, they were winning because of Drew & Sean. The winning stops, and the cap problem becomes more evident.
As long as Loomis doesn’t try to trade & sign “the missing piece” between now & the trade deadline; next year would be the end of the cap he’ll as they will have 3-4 big contracts voiding out

oh, look, we absolutely hit on Brees, no doubt, but our track record includes many more high priced misses than it does hits.... Coby Fleener? Kurt Coleman? Nick Easton? Marcus Maye?
