This movie is forgotten about.
Very tense and visually beautiful.

Harvey Keitel is great

Yep. Sub movies seem to be under appreciated, but they come with a built in level of tension that’s off the charts.

I have to agree. Great cast, great movie. I feel like this is a forgotten movie but it really is amazing

Was home sick one afternoon this week and watched The Hunt for Red October. I had forgotten how good it is. I barely remember U571. I need to give it a rewatch.

1. When McConaughey hands a wrench to the young engineer and tells him to close the leak, they both knew the kid was gonna die
2. Same for the sub captain (Bill Paxton) who went overboard in a storm and told the crew to go on without him.

The little lecture he gives Mcconaughey about leadership is an absolute jewel. Excellent writing.

Red October is one of my Connery favorites. I've been going through watching some of his movies again lately.

It was awesome in the theater with the depth charges. Watch in surround sound if possible.
