-New DC Allen putting on a contact clinic. The ultimate goal is to be the best tackling team in the country. The energy is there, and they are aggressive and popping the offense with hits. Defensive depth and rotation are in question, but expect their starters to hit hard and go all out.
-Alexander -leader on the team. “This is his year.” “Don’t be shocked when you see Pop off him early against LSU.”
-Had a basketball player convert to TE. It doesn’t seem like the locked-on guy is convinced he will have a huge role.
-They aren’t sold on the LT position. Brandon Jacobs’ son is a freshman and 2nd team rn. He has the potential to start.
- Five-star running back Davidson is not expected to be as utilized in the first game. He is being brought along slowly.
Their starting RB will be Randall, who converted from WR this offseason.

TLDR: Defense depth is in question. DL is the strength of the defense. The offense seems stable because of returning starters and will be productive.

Hurry up offense, keep their DL on their heels and unable to pin their ears back.

Clemson’s secondary is cheeks.

Wish the game was later in the season, we definitely have more depth.

So they had a crap defense last year, brought in a new DC and all if fixed. We know that is not how it works, bad defenses are not a result of just bad coaching. They take a minute to fix. Not a few practices and it is all better.

The big thing I keep hearing from them. Defense is lively, DL is dominating, and they are going to tackle really really well.

That’s my worry. Remember how we lost to USC? We beat that USC team 11/12 other weeks 100%

LSU went from like 130th in total defense to 61st in Baker’s first year last year. Clemson was 69th in total defense last year.

The locked on guy believes they have 8 potential starting OL guys. Matt Luke is their coach.

Who?

If they are referring to the LB Jeremiah Alexander then LOL. The guy who transferred from Bama because he didn’t get a single meaningful snap in two years is now the leader on this Clemson team? What does that say about the rest of this Clemson team…

The game will come down to LSU’s o-line. Protect nuss and we will win. If we come out and get pushed around like USC did it will be another ugly start to the year.

If we were running the Les Miles (3 yards and a cloud of dust) offense we would be done. Short to intermediate passes can overcome a weak Oline.

not trying to resurrect this argument but Miles had an 11-0 opening day record at LSU, and against a few damn strong teams, BK? can't seem to be able to get his team ready to open up with almost 9 months to prep

I remember an opener with Les Miles where they looked like they had a kindergarten passing offense and lost against Wisconsin.

Maybe I’m wrong but I feel like the only openers Les team wasn’t a favorite or TD plus favorite was Oregon in 2011 and TCU in 2013.

Lost an embarrassing game to Wisconsin where LSU was -10.5.

Also almost blew the game with complacent 2nd half offense vs UNCs 2nd string in 2010 after they suspended many key players.

It's sucks that Clemson got Allen as a DC. He is the real deal.

forgot about that one , still Les has a considerably better body of work here than the start BK is off to, not advocating for his return, it's just that BK is squandering resources/opportunities here thus far

Except for ours. We can fix overnight.

Adding more pistol formation would do wonders for the O. It will freeze the D an extra second and that is all Nuss might need.

Defense getting 3 and outs or TO’s will be huge for us to wear them down.
