Sounds high to me.
It's 8% where I usually buy groceries.

Minners and crickets are exempt

More rural areas might have higher sales tax to offset the low population and lower property taxes.
Homes generally cost less further out from city centers.

Does Farmerville have a Chick-a-dilly?
I’d gladly pay extra tax for one of their three pieces on fresh grease day.

That’s because the state rate isn’t being charged

It's outside of city limits. Inside city limits is 10%.

This makes no sense. Groceries are expect from the state sales tax so you’re saying your city has a nearly 15% sales tax rate? (That’s more than the highest rate in Louisiana - 12.95%)

There ain’t nothing more crooked than small towns esp run by one or two families.

I'm telling you, that if I buy an item out of the city limits that costs $1.00, it costs me $1.08. If I buy the very same item inside the city limits for the same price, it will cost me $1.10.

Not really. 12% is high, no matter where you are. 12% is still 12%.
