Why do people consistently fall into the trap of complaining about everything as they age

Rather than embracing all they've done/seen?
Im only closing in on 40 but I feel like despite the negativity that social media tries to throw at you, life is beautiful if you just spend a moment with your kid or walk outside.
What goes through the older folks minds on this site that not only embrace the negativity, but feel like they need to add to it? Is everyone just that fed up with life and they've given up on trying to spread positivity?

I'm saying that type of behavior wasn't allowed 40 years ago. Not addressing problems will cause them to snowball. This sort of thing should be noticed and condemned.

I’m almost 60. Negativity is an easy trap to fall into especially if you have no interests or activities. I’m happier than I’ve ever been in my life. I’m making retirement plans and can’t wait to finally have freedom. Those who dwell on the negative most likely have nothing going on and have not planned well in life. I’d imagine just existing while you wait for death would be a terrible place to be.

Yes, and? Certain pockets of black communities are far overrepresented in crime. Ignoring it isn't positivity. It only makes it worse. Complaining about it is the first step in attempting to correct it.
