Why exactly? I can't see how bringing back physical fitness and education to the youth can be a bad thing, but I'm interested to hear you explain why I'm wrong.

This doesn't seem like a big out of left field shocker, it certainly seems aligned with the greater MAHA movement in the administration.

It went away in 2013. It shouldn't be that controversial.

Yep.

Not saying he shouldn't do it.

But yeah.

There's going to be some fat kids crying to some woke parents demanding some safe spaces all across this fruited plain over this one.

Hope he's willing to stand firm against the backlash and not cave. Because the backlash (once kids start actually having to do this stuff) is going to be epic.

Obese is not healthy. There is no way to spin it into being accurate, at all.

Honestly, I'd moreso support an executive order that ENCOURAGES body shaming obese people It would probably help more than this. We need to cut the "big is beautiful" and "you're healthy at every size" bullshite. These lunatics live in a complete fantasy world.

Seriously?

Again, he's not saying it's a bad thing. He's saying that a huge portion of America will perceive it as being a bad thing.

If that's not self-evident to you, I don't know what to tell you.

It wasn't a bad thing for Michelle Obama to try to use her influence to improve the nutritional quality of school lunches, on the same theory that this is not a bad thing. But it sure upset people. This will too.

Not only did it upset people, it probably upset people who are posting on this very thread lauding Trump for basically doing the same thing.

The mindless idiot who authored the post directly underneath this one is undobtedly one of those people.

You hold an 80 year old man to the same physical fitness standard as a middle school aged child?

Interesting.

I think we should adopt the Japanese model and have a nutritionist in every school.
