Interested in what the preferred method of climbing and hanging from a tree is for the OB. Tested out the saddle for the first time last year and I am not 100% sold. Any experience with the mobile sets like LWCG .5/.75? or Novix

Still using my two piece Lone Wolf climber. Not the most comfortable thing but light and easy to carry

My brother uses the LWCG 0.5 and loves it. He climbs with a single stick and rappels down in a kildeer dryad harness.

I use a saddle, a platform, a rappel rope, and a single stick with aiders. Tempted to try out a true one stick setup but it's a pricey one to try.

On private, combination of ladder stands and preset sticks with lock on stands.

On public, sladder climbing system and a platform while wearing the saddle. I’m adding a ring of steps this year also.

My favorite is my Millennium M150 lock on w/ Hunter Safety System harness. I have 2 other ladders on the property and will be setting a new Hawk Denali 2 man ladder this evening that I assembled Sunday afternoon and yesterday. I tried to winch it up yesterday but could not clear some limbs on a Chestnut Oak. Taking my chain saw and pole saw to clean up another tree to allow setting it up.

I switched out the seat on mine to a hunt comfort and I’m still always surprised at how long I can sit in it. I can honestly say that I’ve never decided to get down because I was uncomfortable.

Latitude saddle
Tethrd platform

Typically set up some trees and leave the sticks up all season.

I ended up failing on my 2nd attempt on the hackberry that I chose. I will try again this afternoon on a large cedar tree about 150 feet to the west. It will be more limbs to cut but should get it done!

I have two Summit climbers. I usually park one on a tree for rifle hunting and the other I'll have available for moving around. I also have 3 Hawk eye sticks and a lock on that I'll use for certain areas.

I bought a saddle set up about 4 years ago when they were becoming popular. Cheaper, basic stuff, not terrible but not the best either. I hated it and sold everything after that season. Went back to the climber the following season, but caught myself looking at trees thinking “that’d be a perfect spot in a saddle”. So the following year I went all out and bought a latitude method 2, 4 tethrd one sticks and the original hunt arsenal RZR platform. I love that set up. Once I was comfortable, I added a 2 step aider to each stick, so I can get up there a good ways.
I just bought the new arsenal RZR sub 2 platform, and their cloud infinity saddle. If I wear my saddle in, between sticks and platform I’ll be packing less than 6lbs.
I bought the lwcg hybrid last year, but I don’t really care for “hybrid hunting”. If I wasn’t so mobile, it would be nice, but I’m always moving and having to set up and break down a lock-on slows me down and makes more noise than a platform.

If your style is mobile hunting, which it sounds like, I’d give the saddle another chance. Some guys like 1-sticking and repelling. I don’t care for it. Some guys like a single panel saddle, but I prefer a 2 panel… what I’m getting at is you may have tried out a set up that wasn’t suited to you, but if you dial it in to what you like, it’s a game changer for sure.

Been using the same API since the original climber. I'd love to find an improvement, but I don't think that has ever been made.
