Eric Esch, aka Butterbean, the King of the Four Rounders wants to come out of retirement and has a wish list of fighters he'd like to face.

That list includes Mike Tyson, Jake Paul and John Fury, father of heavyweight champ Tyson Fury.

Hell, the guy was in a wheelchair just a couple years ago because his weight blew up to over 500 lbs. and he couldn't even walk and is now 58 yrs. old.

Guess whatever money he made boxing those 4 rounders went up in Twinkies and other crap food.

A few years ago i was walking through a flea market in Pigeon Forge and Butterbean was sitting in one of the booths selling autographed memorabilia. I dont think many people knew who he was but he was in no condition to fight again.

Or......former fighter who sees what a social media side show boxing has become recognizes there could be an opportunity to make money in a "novelty" fight

no. Just no.

If he wants to fight make him do it on a boat offshore because no one should be sanctioning him

At this point it's just a pipe dream he's having. The guy had 91 professional fights with only 4 of them scheduled longer than 4 rounds.

Early in his career he had two 6 round fights scheduled, then he had one 8 rounder and a 10 round fight against Larry Holmes. Only 2 of them went the distance, his 3rd fight went 6 and the Holmes fight went 10.

I can't see any legit sanctioning body allowing him to ever fight again, no matter how much he claims he's fit enough to do so.

Now you’ve piqued my interest. As long as it’s a renegade match, why not make it bare-knuckle?

Hell, hat's off to the guy for finally doing something about his 500+ lb. self and losing weight to be able to gain some mobility again.

Even when he was boxing, he was still a big fat guy who weighed over 300 lbs. for most of his fights and I was surprised he could go 4 rounds if he had to, to be honest.

But to make the claim he wants to fight again is simply ludicrous and surely nobody can take him seriously.

Knoxville was my doppelganger back then. I'm not complaining, though. Landed a lot of good-looking women because of it.

Butterbean knows all about it. He was one of the original "side shows." His longest bout was 10 rounds against 52 year old Larry Holmes.

They gotta stop with this…. It’s why no one is taking sports seriously anymore. It’s all becoming WWE.
