Grand Isle bridge toll is an absolute ripoff.

A regular pick-up or car pulling a 20’ boat is $21.90. That is literally highway robbery.

Nope. Been fishing the Louisiana coast for 50 years. Never has there been anything as outrageous as this.

Grand Isle is a rip off...

Much better Launching somewhere between Myrtle Grove and Empire and fishing the same areas.

I use to love Grand Isle, and it's still OK in the off season but my back yard is on fire during the off season so no need to go in late fall and Winter any longer.

You’d think the marinas south of the bridge would raise a stink about how ridiculous $22 toll for a pickup towing a bay boat is. They have to be losing a ton of business from Lafourche locals who would be driving down for day trips if not for such an absurd toll cost.

Camp owners are not exempt from the tolls the tolls either. Our government sucks, fricking taxed to death.

Judging by the crowds I’ve been seeing it doesn’t look like it’s deterring anyone, even people day tripping to the beach.

Yeah, the price isn’t deterring anyone. I’ve seen as many people down there as ever this year. Like it or not the locals aren’t the ones dropping the serious money down there. Go check out the real estate prices down there, then if you want to really get sick go get insurance prices. All that is before a 6 figure bay boat and a 20k side by side. Don’t even get into offshore boat pricing. It’s ridiculous. So that toll is just a drop in the bucket for a lot of those folks. The regular working person is pretty much priced out.

Should be illegal to write policies down there. Those camps are the reason my premiums have doubled 2x in the last 4 years

Normally, I have no issue with a toll. It is a user fee for people actually making use of the road. The problem here is that it is the only road access to the area. If I don't want to pay a toll in Dallas, I can take a slower route. You can't do that here.

What it comes down to is that you make your dissatisfaction know by not going there.

More people this summer than I can remember. Certainly more golf carts and SxS’s. Glad I can go at least some of the time during the week.

We have enough trash on Grand Isle as it is- perhaps if they raise the tolls more, it will keep the squatted truck gang away.
