I actually fully support this as long as trannys aren’t allowed. I’d be far more comfortable allowing my gf to take an uber alone if I could ensure a female driver. I’d even pay extra for it. If a they them shows up though good chance I’m getting some time in the clink.

Definitely a needed feature. Think of who is a Uber or Uber Eats driver - largely people who are unable to hold down a real job. A disproportionate number are foreigners
Hopefully this feature will put more pressure on Uber to rid its platform of illegals. There is a whole industry out there where people “rent” their ID out to illegals so that illegals can work on gig apps.

It's an ok idea, I suppose. Some women don't feel comfortable driving alone with an unknown male. Most people will still just take the nearest available car regardless of who is driving though.

It’s a safety issue. You aren’t totally free from discrimination at all times for all things in America, it just has a much higher degree of scrutiny to meet as a policy or legal issue.

White Uber drivers are uncommon in my experience. I’ve never had a white female at all.

The frick it is. They already do background checks before you are approved to drive. This is some sexist nonsense that is literally discrimination. Why should a male uber driver lose out on potential fares for nothing other than being a man?
If simply being a man is a safety issue, why let any men drive?
