Top 3 Disney/Pixar animated movies by decade

I was going to do a list of the sole best by decade but that would have been too controversial. I give an overall rating of the top 3 by decade in my list for conversation. I probably have older decades underrated for many’s liking but I’m a young millennial so I grew up with films in the 90s and later. Feel free to disagree. I also did not rank any movies that I haven’t seen before so that could explain older films I missed. Probably could have done a top 10 list from the 1990s & 2000s and still left out movies I enjoyed. Those were really hard to narrow down to a top 3.
In replies you can leave just your favorite by decade. Curious to see what more recent movies people have as their favorites now that we’re getting dozens of movies a decade. Of course with the plethora of movies now theres lots of crap put out there but is it just quantity over quality these days or do the best of recent decades stack up against the best from previous ones?

Do you agree they peaked in the 90s/00s? Basically coincides with my thought everything seemed to have peaked up til 9/11 then society began to go downhill from there with social media

Onward was way better than it should’ve been. Really like that one.
And Luca is awesome. I’m biased because that was one of my son’s favorite movies when he was around 2, so we watched it all the time. But it’s really good.
Coco should be on your list though. It is top tier Pixar.

All 3 from the 1970s are tragically underrated.
Robin Hood and Little John
Walkin' through the forest
Laughin' back and forth
At what the other'n has to say
Reminiscin' this 'n' that
And havin' such a good time
Oo-de-lally, Oo-de-lally
Golly, what a day

Mulan?
Aladdin and Beauty and the beast substantially over Mulan…

Change out onward for encanto and that’s about even and only halfway through the decade
Zootopia is WAY overrated

1950s
I would vote Peter Pan over Alice in Wonderland
1990s this is really tough
Toy Story
Lion King
Beauty and the Beast
2010s
Toy Story 3
Wreck it Ralph
Zootopia

The Aristocrats- was 2005, not 1970, and may not be considered a children’s story in the typical manner.

Cars is also missing from the 2000's list.

Not really both of those are some of my personal favorites. I had WALL-E on it and really wrestled with dropping it off but I’ve rewatched the others more with nieces and nephews than those 2, like I said

2010s stacks up with any other decade except maybe the 90s. That list doesn’t even have Coco, which is a top 3 all time Pixar movie. Moana is top five, maybe top ten. And I don’t care for Frozen but that’s probably the most popular modern day animated movie. They still make tons of money off of it.

Top 3 can only be 3…
Beauty and the Beast should absolutely be in over Mulan.
All those 2020’s movies are awful.
Up is GOAT Pixar IMO, Lion King is GOAT Disney IMO.

quote:I have only seen Coco once and agree with the other 2 as being 2 of my favorite ones from this decade. I generally agree with your movie choices on this board so I may have to give Coco another shot. Halfway through the decade though definitely apparent the drop off nowadays from past decades. The few I listed from this decade are the only ones I’ve cared for
