If US citizens are being caught up in ICE raids that's unfortunate. But this reporter thinks it's a gotcha that something unfortunate is happening as part of the process of solving the problem. He should be asking why ICE raids are necessary in the first place. Who caused the problem? Go talk to Joe Biden, Alexander Mayorkas, Kamala Harris. Why did THEY allow this to happen? They caused the problem that the Trump admin is trying to fix.

When I google it, I find 3 or 4 articles talking about individuals. That's it.

Then I see that from 2015 - 2020 that ice arrested 674 and detained 121 citizens.
So, it's happening but exceedingly rare. Way more than the left would have you believe.

I'd guess most of the arrest of US citizens are where they're trying to help illegals evade ice.

Yes, if you are hanging out at a house where others are selling drugs, or people who are known drug dealers or gang bangers are hanging out, or people who just robbed a liquor store or stole a car are hanging out, and that house gets raided, you will be detained, maybe even arrested. Now once it is determined that you did not participate in whatever illegal activity occurred, you will be sent on your way, albeit after a pretty uncomfortable inconvenience. How do you remedy this? Don't hang out with criminals!!!

I have not heard or read a case where that has happened.
however- people asserting it are probably playing with meanings.

Remember the little uproar when Homan said ICE did not need probable cause to detain someone. People acted like he had said the 4th Amendment does not exist. Yet, he is 100% correct. Police, and ICE, do not need probable cause to temporarily detain people. They do need reasonable suspicion, and that is a much lower standard.

Now, if you ask: are citizens being briefly detained (asked a couple of questions, perhaps a quick pat-down for weapons) based on reasonable suspicion of being an illegal - then I would be very surprised if that had not happened. But innocent people are briefly detained in a similar manner fairly regularly.

Are they being fully arrested - the fact that we don't have some case dominating the news, I doubt it has happened.
