This is a good move. It's a GOP led Pontius Pilate washing of the hands maneuver by Mike Johnson. It takes heat off the legislative branch and places it squarely on the executive and judicial branches.

That's my thinking too. Initially it will look really bad then after the application of the Bongino rule and more information is leaked the narrative will shift. Maybe this is Trump's way of getting the Epstein information out and simultaneously protecting himself, family and friends from getting whacked if the theory that he is being threatened is true.
