Maybe yes, maybe no. It depends on a number of factors. When in doubt, throw it out.

Absolutely.

Probably overcooked by now, but it won't hurt you.

Tell me the difference between that and doing sous vide or being in a 150 degree oven for 2 hours

Seems like if you are cooking it right away or soon. I problem. I would wonder about it getting up to 100+ then bringing it to fridge or freezer temp then bringing it back up.

It's okay if you like bacteria like Salmonella, E. Cole and Listeria which can multiply rapidly after only 1 hour and temps above 90 F.

Cooking may not kill all the toxins they produce.

Good luck

Lol, gtfo of here. Sure, it can multiply and if you don't cook it for 2 days you maybe right.

The real answer is that humans have gotten extremely weak stomachs over time due to refrigeration, cooking. etc.

How do you think people survived prior to modern refrigeration? Meat was salted sure, but it wasnt sanitary and what not for many many days at a time.

I'm not positive I've ever had food "poisoning" but I eat a ton of stuff most throw out. 2 week old leftovers, wild game, organ meat, etc.

That’s not what he said at all. Keep on acting like the science of bacterial growth is wrong.

I don't know if it is or it isn't. I am not interested in arguing with you. I think there has to be a premium for being able to control the cooking temperature versus not. If you want to eat a steak left in a car, go for it. I will throw it away and go buy another.

The steak in the car:
The steak in the car sits in the “danger zone” until it cools down in the fridge again. Possibility of bacteria growth. Now the steak is sitting in the fridge and all that extra bacteria that grew is now multiplying. The fridge slows it down, it doesn’t stop it.

Then you go to cook it later and there’s too much bacteria there to kill. Remember, heating the meat to X temperature only kills a certain amount of bacteria.

The steak (that wasn’t in the car) cooking at 150
It sits in the “danger zone” for less time and eventually comes up to a proper lethality temp. It doesn’t go in the oven at 150 for 2 hours and then in the fridge and then cooked later.

Make fun of me all you want, post Southpark gifs, be an idiot…it doesn’t change the facts. As I have always said…it’s probably fine but the science says that there’s a possibility that it is not.

All anybody here can do is guess. Take one for the science and let us know how it turns out.
